Question about old patches

My question is that if you are playing with an old patch on a ranked server, will it count towards your gaming time? I played for about 2 or 3 hours this afternoon, but it didn't update my playing time in BF2S or any other stat site. Help?

I thought you needed the new patch to play at all... or is that just to get into patched servers? I imagine it isnt ranked if its old cause thatd be really unfair to the rest of us who patched.

Some servers didn't patch, so it seems. Well, I'm not trying to be unfair, it's just that it would take me 8hrs to dl the patch......I'll download it later if I can(It's my computer, I need to reformat 0_0)

no. the ea ranking server will only accept data from ranked servers running the latest patch.

no. the ea ranking server will only accept data from ranked servers running the latest patch.

Are you sure about that? I doubt it very much. After all, before the 1.3 patch was released, how did the servers manage to update your stats, now all of a sudden not?

Okay, so it doesn't count stats of an old patch server if there is a newer one out, am I correct?

My understanding, from a previous thread like this, that prior to 1.30 there was a 1 week grace period where the ranking server would still work with the previous version. However, this patch they did away with that so 1.22 does NOT get updated.

Wargimp, is that what they did? I don't run my own server so I can't verify.

Perhaps its because not all of EA servers have been updated? They probably update only part of them, initially, when a patch is released because no everyone patches immediately.
