The way I got quite a few engineer points was I played one of the china levels where there is an aircraft carrier and someone in a plane kept destroying the AA gun on the ship so I camped and kept repairing it and sure enough I got like 15 repair points in the round.

Stay at your main base and wait til enemy SpecOps destroy your assets or the enemy commander drops Cartillery to destroy them; its 2 points each asset.

SF maps tend to have more SpecOps who blow assets or some bomber maps.

Grab a jeep and drive around and run over people. Wait until you get hit by an AT rocket, then run somewhere safe and repair. Also repair commander assets. Or be commander, put a crate somewhere near an asset of your own (but NOT in repair range), get a mate to spawn as engineer and suicide by the asset so you get his kit, and you spawn as specops. Blow up the arty, switch kits, repair, blow up, etc...

I got my vet repair badge on Warlord. I suggest three things, depending on the situation:
                A. Follow your teams tank around
                B. If there are two squads raping your base as SAS, get in the AIL Raider and just drive around repairing everything they destroy.
                C. Same concept as B, cept you should be in the APC behind the palace now. Wait till the British capture one of the palace flags (you are Insurgent) and they will start blowing things up. Now's your chance, these give loads of points because there are people spawning right next to them blowing them up. Once, when I got mine, they had captured BOTH palace flags, and continued to try to blow the stuff up. That's perfect, as yuou can repair your APC all you want, then jump back into the repairing fray. Only thing you gotta worry about is A. ATers going specifically for you and B. C4 on you while you repair the Scan trailer.

I've been unsuccessfully trying to get the veteran engy badge for a while. I think they decreased the requirement down to 20 repair points, but it's still alot. The most I've done was 19 and that was before the patch, but it still wouldn't be enough even if it was after the patch.

                    That's stat padding...

I thought you only got repair points if someone is in the vehicle? If you repair your own empty vehicle, no points.

Maveric (http://bf2s.com/player/64496387/), is talking about stat padding. Destroying your own artillery only to repair it is stat padding.
