Instead why not strike on creating AF servers for a week.
People may not buy af if there are no servers other than EAs.

Create a poll for server owners.

"Yes I will not run a AF server ever"

"Yes I will not run a AF server for one week after release"

"No I will run a AF server"

I was an active member of the cod community before Bf2, did the Cod2 strike have any effect.
IMHO no it didnt.
we played without PB for 6 months untill Activison released it in a patch. but only cause they were releasing Cod2 for XBox 360 and they still got the patch first.
I said yes for strike, do I think it will happen, no.
If it did happen i.e. all severs world wide were shut down for 24hours would it have an effect, yes I think it would.

BTW, the general public of COD2 didn't strike, it was a small group of clansmen and server owners, maybe 200 people tops. My bro plays cod2 a lot, one of the best players in cal last season, he didnt even participate.
The CoD2 boycot was a COMPLETE failure in much of the CoD2''s community's eyes.

why, in your self-important little bubble you like to call your world do you think that EA will be bothered by you calling for a "strike"?

a) you don't pay for the service they provide
b) they gain nothing from you playing thier game - you already paid for it.

a strike is a tool for workers to interrupt the mode of production and hence affect profit margins, forcing positive change. you not playing a computer game affects EA in no way whatsoever. the only thing that will change is that you might actually get some exercise.

c'mon, the quicker you realise that you are in no way important in any economical sense the quicker you will start to see other, more valuable sides to your existence. take that as you will.

Youre right, but remember EA make a lot of money from Server rental also, so they do rely on the community for ongoing revenue, ill strike beacuse the only time DICE/EA have ever listened has been recently when server admins are complaining about crashes( which they definately should as theyre paying a fortune to rent ), but also server admins/cland rely on the community also, and i thank them for letting use use their servers to play

Like others have said, don't buy their product.

INSTEAD, buy the product from their upcomming competition. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars looks far superior to BF 2142 in just about every way. Buying their competitors product over their own will make them refocus their priorities.

• the patch blocks the Alternative Battlefield Ranking (ABR) which was developed gamers and has been approved by DICE (more information)
• a petition of more than 10.000 active gamers which was asking for an introduction of "squad hopping" as a server option has been ignored by Electronic Arts (more information)
• many alternative game modes in Battlefield 2 modifications provided by the community are not working anymore or not properly. Modding teams have not been informed about these changes
• the current patch contains some good improvements (search for servers for example) but is unfortunately is as faulty as version 1.2 (ingame server browser, crashes)

I have 3200 ranked servers with at least 6 players in my xfire server list.

Assume you get 100 people to vote yes.

Maybe 5 of those people actually own a server.

If you're lucky, 2 of those people will shut their server down for a day.

The best way to **** off EA is to get everysingle person who owns a ranked server to stop paying for it!!!
DICE have made an excellent game and EA have gone and f*cking ruined it!!

people like you are those which EA and other big companies like to see.

people who can not look out of their little black box and swallow everything.

people like you can not possible imagine how things might roll the other way.

i really can not stand this kind of mentality. i say yes, strike and hopefully a lot more will come along.

don't just sit and complain but actually let them know how you feel.
