LAN party question. This is legal, *****.

Alright, check it. My group of friends has only 2 copies of BF2 among us. We were hoping that somehow, JUST one for one night we'd be able to install BF2 on each of our machines, and LAN that game up. We tried it before, and it didn't work.

Does anyone know if the mention of LAN easibility on the new 1.3 patch will make my job of setting this up any easier? Is there a specific patch someone could suggest that I would run? Also, should we set one of the computers up as a dedicated server?

If there's anything else I need to know hook me up.

Look guys. I own this game. I'm not some dumbass hacker trying to pull anything. I have stats online, I was just hoping someone could give me pointers on how to get a few of my friends on for just a few rounds.

Its not legal no matter how much you try to rationalize it. And i dont believe you'd do it for one night only.

You can run a LAN server, but anyone that connects to your LAN server must own a legit copy, end of story. THis isn't CSS!

technically it's legal if his freinds uninstall it after leaving. I have my copy of my BF on my laptop and my desktop (well i used to - i bought another so a friend could play online).

BF1942 stated in the users manual that you could have up to 3 people in a coop game using 1 key.

But although its legal, it probably violates the EULA, which voids your license for the game.

So although its legal, its not.
