Now after their new 'update' to fix all the server crashes and connections problems, whenever i press refresh in my favorites list, it deletes all the favorites.

You have a refresh button on your favorites page? I haven't looked, but I don't refresh, I just click on the individual server and it does it. -

Try having only 6 or less checks in the server filters like Ranked, Same Mod, etc. This was an issue before 1.3.Comment

Yep favs were gone. A screwup on EA/Dice. It seems to be. Does it keep me from having fun - no. I will seldom chuck an entire game because of some little glitch.

The thing that completely ****ed it up for me... is all of the CTD's that JUST started happening after this patch.. it takes like 10 tries to get into the server... restarting BF2 each time. In that case you are hosed and I feel your pain. In every case where I have crashed after a patch (not just this game) a vanilla install fixes the problem. The problems to date have usually been related to applying 'optimizations' to my system. So I rarely 'optimize' any more...Comment

I feel your pain dude, im not a play maniac but ive only had 1 crash( dmp file ) in 2 months( and that was 15th may before 1.3 ), ive played about 100 hours in 2 months and played about 8 hours after i installed 1.3. Im not saying in anyway that its not buggy( and i emphesize this!!!!! ),it could be a hardware or software config issue( mine will probably crash 10 times in the next few hours after i post this )Originally posted by metallicaguitrst
I had loads of crashes before March 23rd when i reinstalled XP pro on a newly wiped drive, and i never bothered installing SF after that time either( too many modified content errors ) and i dont have any booster packs installed. I keep my machine relatively clean, dont install junk anymore, run anti-spyware regularly and fragment drive once every 2 weeks.
Since march 23rd i also added 1 Gig more mem, X-Fi card and it seems ok
Also make sure your hosts files dont have any redirections, mabye it even crashes if theres anything there.
As i said im not trying to nullify your claims in any way, only trying to help dude, in that it might be your system( i know lots of people are having CTD's but there may be a common issue here )

Using 256Upload/2Meg download broadband
I dunno, would be extreme to reinstall XP, but mabye uninstall any crap you have on the system, i do remember with the demo when i was using XP Home,512Mb ram,mobo soundcard and NVidia 5200 it would crash on "Join" however
Oh and i optomize like a Mofo, PCI latency/killing most services/GPU Mem, killing duff processes in task manager )Comment

If click on each favorite individually, its info updates as normal, but the moment I hit the refresh button, most (not all) disappear. (This is the "favorites" tab, so that alone indicates a bug. If the server doesn't match the filters [not that the filters ever applied to the "favorites" before], then it should just go red, not disappear.)
After this point, the whole list (what's remaining) gets buggy, and if I alternate between individually clicking the server and hitting refresh, eventually the whole list will disappear.
