    J-10 Vs JSF-35

    Hello all,
I love wake, however when playing against a good China pilot in a J-10 I find it near impossible to bring down his plane. The missiles cannot seem to keep up with the J-10's turning. Then, when a J-10 is n my backside I can deploy flares all I like becuase it will still take me out no matter which way I turn.

However, as China I find we usually own the skys and I have a fun game.

Is there any way, moves, turns, etc I can use to give me the best chance against a J-10 on Wake.

    Thanks guys.

P.s. While I'm here, how do you go about bombing tanks/bases in planes such as the J-10 where there are only two bombs. I.e. How do u line up, what angle, etc.

The only way is speed and altitude. You can't out turn or out speed a J10. Your only hope is to avoid being seen and use the J10s speed to your advantage. If you stay higher (500+), you might avoid detection and you can fly extremely fast. If you are skilled, you can lure the J10 above 1000 and either force them out of bounds or stall long enough to get away. You have to keep a close watch on your altitude. If you are flying lower, hit the brakes and slow down in a turn. Most noobs won't notice and scream past at full throttle (maybe even afterburners) trying to catch you. Basic Immelman's may shake a noob pilot.

However, expect to die against anyone with a decent amount of skill. Once a J10 gets a lock on an F35, you are toast. Drop flares all you want, turn as hard as you can, you are done. I kill F35s all the time when locked and flares have dropped, i.e. A2A missile keep locked through the flares.

On the other hand, taking down a J10 is nearly impossible. They will out turn almost any missiles from an F35. My recipe for success is to sneak up behind with bomb HUD, wait for them to straighten out, switch quickly to A2A and let 4 missiles go and unleash the cannon. While you don't have a lock initially, by the time missile 3 and 4 go, you probably do. The first two sometimes track the plane anyways or they hit since I am close enough. The gun rips them apart as well. Against an evenly matched pilot, I won't get many if any kills, so I focus on choppers and land targets. I also expect to die more and wait for my chance to play the Chinese side so I can return the favor. To be honest, I am ashamed if I get shot down in a J10 by any plane.

      Thanks for the tips Older.

How quick can a F-35 slow down using the "S" key. Would it be quick enough to slow down and make a turn. Or do you start slowing down and make the turn a second after pressing "S".

More tips would be great guys, thanks :)

The J-10 isn't the worse, the F-18 is actually worst. He can fly straight without flares and dodge all 6 missiles without a problem. If anything needs to be fixed is both the F-18 and J-10.

I think I heard that the trick between the F35 and the J10 is to use the hover mode of the F35. When the J10 is behind you, pull up and drop flares, then afterburn with the hover mode. The F35 will come to a stop while the J10 zips right past. Switch to air-to-air and unleash airborne hell.

The same evasion moves in the F18/J10/MiG dodge missiles in the the F35 it doesn't work. When someone is on my tail i'm usually in the view looking behind me, i pull of barrel-rolls whilst climbing and turning and i watch the missiles come right to me, then zig-zag away from me. It's worse in the J10 but the concept works for the F18/J10/MiG. In the F35 the only real way you will avoid a missile with flares is to release them whilst upside down. Although against static-AA/Mobile AA you can release them at sharp turns and evade the lock/missiles with a decent success rate.

Also bear in mind the J10 locks on quicker than the F35, so you really have to be on the ball when flying the F35. But on maps like Wake/Dalian by the time you've determined whether it's a jet or AA, you've been hit. Have to have lightning fast reactions. (I'm not saying i survive in an F35 on J10 maps, i'm just saying what i do to survive that couple of seconds longer and might throw off an unskilled pilot. If it's a semi-skilled pilot you're pretty much dead, if it's a skilled pilot just bail/suicide/leave the server/switch as chinese.

The J10 can actually go higher than the F35 without losing control so i REALLY don't understand how going high in the F35 will throw off a J10 pilot.

I can shoot down F18s magnitudes easier than a J10. I do it all the time on Fushe. I do agree that for whatever reason, getting a good lock that leads to a kill is a pain with the F18s.

Kemik, I hate to say this, but you clearly demonstrated one of the biggest sins in flying... It looks like you are using a keyboard. Nothing can help you if that's the case other than a joystick. You reverse throttle with a stick and it acts like an air brake (i.e. flaps). Initiate a turn and hit the reverse throttle. Most can't tell that you are slowing down because of the angles and line of site. Like I said, if they do, you are toast.

Also, if you have a decent rig, make sure you have effects turned up high. Following a damaged plane or one using afterburners is easy since they leave a smoke/vapor trail. Use a headset with a good sound card so you can keep track of their location when you lose sight of them.

I've found that the F35 missiles no longer bounce off the j10 like tennis balls. However it seems the F35 has lost alot of thrust. Before the patch I could usually maneuver well enough to lose j10 most of the time. But now it seems liek without the afterburner the F35 has just lost so much of the thrust it used to have. Maybe not, all I know is when my afterburner runs out I'm finding it damn near impossible to lose a J10 as where before I usually could. And Stizzle, your assessment is dead on bro

It's been said a million times. Listen man, there are mouse pilots out there as good as the best joystick pilots. It's all about the hardware, settings, and pilot. Now if your using just a keyboard and nothing else, well then I can imagine that has to be pretty $hitty.

                  Re: J-10 Vs JSF-35

The limit on altitude is the same on all planes as far as I know (1000 meters or whatever measure is in the game). What I do is head straight up or at a steep angle or Immelman with a J10 in pursuit. As I start to get close to 1000, I pull hard and try to level off or peak at 950-975. If the J10 pilot is not paying attention and is totally focused on getting the kill, they won't notice the altitude and end up overshooting the limit by just enough and lose control. Worst case is we both end up too high. The J10 is at a higher risk of ending up out of bound since its going faster and will take longer to reverse and drop down below 1000.

The afterburner in an F35 isn't enough to lose a J10 with afterburner. The J10 has a shorter time, but can easily track an F35. The only way to get eye bleeding speed in an F35 is to fly at altitude.

It has been said a million times that there are k/b mouse pilots for helos that are as good as the best stick pilots. The same hasn't been said for planes. The ratio of good pilots that use k/b mouse to stick for planes is ridiculously skewed towards stick pilots. Are there exceptions, absolutely, but I haven't run into one yet.

Speaking of using higher altitudes as a form of defense....how do you all cope with the intensly bright sky? Is there a setting that can be adjusted? Maybe the gamma on the video card settings?

dont use S for slow down...just let go of w and u will sstart slwoing down after like 5 seconds and the slow down happens pretty quick..S just makes ur engine face down to "hover" but i find it pretty hard to control the hover and u cant make a "break" for it if ur engines are pointing down..

but if u just let go of w itll just slow downa nd then if u need speed..hit after burners + w and ull speed up

plus flying very high altitudes will help deflect pilots (like me ) who rely on seeing the ground for a sense of direction..

to bomb..its all a matter of practice..but a tip is to fire very earlier than u think..i tend to over shoot when bombing

I recently have started doing this... and trust me I went 47 and 0 in a su 34 yesterday and shot down 6 f35's.

The suggested teqnique is correct, however the only time you should engage is when you notice the j10 is using its air brake to strafe a target. No mouse pilots should EVER engage a j10 in an J35.
