Ok, here's the gist of what has happened:
Since 1.3 has been such a problematic patch, I wanted to revert to 1.22. So, I uninstalled Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2: Special Forces. I re-installed Battlefield 2, no problem. Tried to re-install Special Forces and got a "Please Insert correct Disc" error. I checked my disc over really good, didn't have any problems with it. So, I decided to restore my system using a restore point to a time before I uninstalled Battlefield 2. Now, whenever I try to start Battlefield 2, I get a black screen and the following error:
ERROR!
mods/bf2/shaders/lightning.fx not found!!! _DO_ check your working directory, _AND_ sync your shaders folder before calling upon your local rendering programmer/GP. (really!)
What, exactly, does this mean? It freezes up the entire game, and I have to ctrl+alt+del out of the game when it pops up. Any help would be greatly appreciated, this issue has been preventing me from starting Battlefield 2.
