EA US Official servers

Does anybody have any idea at all as to why EA has not updated their own "official" servers? Thats where I play 99% of the time, and still 4 days later, their servers are running 1.22. I want to try out the new patch, but I dont want to shoot myself in the foot and not be able to play where I usually do.

Some EA servers around the world are patched to 1.3 - the UK Official ones for example.

Although the one I was playing on last night crashed after I finally got my knife badge after so long trying... Don't understand the logic behind nerfing vet and expert knife but leaving the basic requirement the same, but there you go. Anyway, the server crashed, and my stats didn't get updated with my shiny badge... Not amused, as I'm now very close to Master/First Sergeant and only need this one badge - and I have over 100 knife kills already from trying to make seven in a round without "cheating". So I'm now going to go straight to expert as soon as I manage to get basic... Sorry... a little off-topic... [/rant] Lol :laugh:

Quite why the US ones aren't patched when the UK ones are I have no idea. I'm fairly sure I've also seen French and German EA servers patched to 1.3 on my server browser too, so it just seems to be America that hasn't...

The EA US Official servers are always slow to patch. Give it a few more days before they do.

Actually, I have waited, thats my point. I want to patch but Im not going to until they update.

Heous, the last 2 patches they were updated within 24 hrs. Thats why I was wondering what was going on with this one.

Man, what is the big hold up on patching the official servers!? Maybe they're waiting for the next patch to come out, that'll fix all the new bugs...

I'm in the same boat man. I wish I would have waited like you to update though. I usually play on the EA US Official WC servers and none of them are updated. Now I have to deal with private servers and the god complex of all the admins.

Are there a lot of people still using version 1.22? Is there an easy way to revert back to the older version?

The only way to revert is to uninstall and reinstall bf2.

I have a feeling EA is getting out of the server business for BF2.

They have been very fast to update before.

I think it has more to do with the server crashes and they are going to release either a hotfix or (less likely) revert everyone back to 1.22 and they are lazy and don't want to patch them all again if 1.31 is just around the corner.

Here is the question though. All GSP's have to update to 1.3 If you are also caught playing on a server with an older patch you may also get your stats reset per the ROE. So what happens if you play on an Official EA US server running 1.22?

Its not so much the fact that Im mad that they haven't updated yet, but I wish someone would come out and say what is going on. Ive posted here, pbf, and EA's forums, and nobody has a clue. I even submitted a question to their support system, but that was just this morning and they havent answered yet. If I hear anything, Ill be sure to post back.

You have to try to get knife badges anymore? :laugh:

I got my expert before the patch.
