Patches won't take

Hey, I just recently purchased this game (a few days ago) and have been trying to get it patched. I have tried installing the 1.3 full patch, the 1.21 full patch, and various other patches. Nothing will take. Those 2 patches ran the whole way through and appear to install it, but they in fact do nothing, as when I open the game and run it it remains the version that it was when first installed. Is there anything else I need to do other then run the exe file to get the patch to take? It's not making any sense to me, and is very frustrating. I appreciate whatever help you all can give.

How do you know that the patch doesn't work?

What version of the game are you running at the moment?

No, there really isn't anything else special you need to do.

The version number on the main screen is 1.1.2878-710.0.

I know it isn't patching because that number won't change, and every time I login online it pops up a link to tell me to go download 1.3.

I am having the same issue. I had the game for some time and when I tried to patch 1.3 the game would not load any more. I just restalled the game and did a full 1.3 patch and I get the same only 1.1.28 shows and when I try to load a new patch it tells me that patch 1.12 needs to be installed first

If you see 1.1.2878-710.0 it means that patch 1.3 has been installed.

The old version was 1.1.2720-552.0

Don't worrk what the pop-up message tells you. Have you actually tried playing the game?

Haven't tried yet, but I will now. I assumed that patch 1.3 would make the version number 1.3.... that doesn't really make a lot of sense to me, but... *shrugs*. I will give playing it a try. Thanks.

1.3 is the patch name and during developement, there are several different builds. The final build is 1.1.2878-710.0.

So....

BF2 patch version 1.3 = build number 1.1.2878-710.0

I was having the same dilenma. Thanks for the info. I also thought it would say 1.3 when I logged in. I was getting ready to uninstall. Way to go!!!
