if my friend downloads the BF2 demo, will he be able to play with me in an online server?(i have bf2)?? anyone know?

If it works at all you will only be able to play Gulf of Oman since that's the only map in the demo. Most likely the demo is considered a different version of the game and won't be able to play on any servers except demo servers (which do still exist I believe).

demo servers are different - he will not be able to play with you unless you download the demo yourself.
