BF2 cd key is not valid --- grrr

I bought BF2 two days before i post this, and since I've bought it I've tried the registry hack, i've tried updating punkbuster, deleting the Battlefield 2 folder in My Docs. I've tried manually uninstalling the game. I've tried installing the game in safe mode. I've reformatted my windows partition _twice_.

I would pass it off as the cd key not being valid but the game worked for me just 'once'. I quit the game and restarted and when i hopped back in my key wasn't valid anymore. I only have the bare minimum installed after each format. Windows XP SP2 w/ updates and the latest mobo/vid/sound/mouse drivers.

I'm running out of options, and this is just really frustrating for me. If anyone has any ideas other than the ones i've tried, please help. I had no problems with the Demo online.

Here's my hardware if it helps.
DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D w/ Opteron 148 @ 2.8ghz w/ Enermax 485W
ATi X1600XT 256mb, 2x512MB Generic DDR
E-MU 0404 sound card and a Razer Diamondback mouse
