    Odd surrounding terrain

Hey guys, I got this bug and I can't get rid of it. If you look at it you just lag out, it goes all the way around the map.

Those spikes can be smoothed out in the editor or in Photoshop (which is faster).

any idea how? They arn't spikes like from the random tool, they are like... the lines of crops in a field but wafer thin.

I never use the random tool, but they look like fragment spikes from where your surrounding and main terrain come together. Just set your smooth tool in the terrain editor to 100 and go around the edge of the area where the 2 join. That should do it. It may take a little time, but that's the fix.

The ground under the water is completely flat... Just thought, I'll check the hight of the 2 terrains.

Its an aerial training map requested by Iceman20. As an extra bonus I put in a Red Bull Air Race, thus the big red lines on the minimap.

EDIT: I edited it in PS and its still there. Here is a better shot.

                  Its corrupt surrounding Heightmaps.

Seen many times on the bfeditor forums.

Delete your otiginals and Put a clean set in from a blank map and they should go away.

I got that same effect once when I copied heightmaps from one map to another and it was a different size, I had that rippling landscape throughout the map though, yours seems confined to one band. My guess would be to do what ebc_admin suggested.

Tried it... Nothing. Although it did stop the lag facctor when you see it.

well you could make another new map, of the same size, then close it and copy the heightmap files from your current map to the new one, then see if the problem is still there. Could be the primaryheightmap.raw file. Little testing may tell you the answer.

I think it could be actually. my primary one is 1025x1025, is that the right size? I thought it was supposed to be 1024.
