45 Teamwork points!!! AHHH

OK for valorous unit medal it says 45 teamwork points. I got 41 IAR and then my stupid team had to go and capture all the flags to win the round. I was so ****ed. I was using medic. Anyways, is there any good ways to get a lot of teamwork points in a round? I know helping with flag captures and healing ppl etc works but any good tactics?

Play on a server that has large maps with low player counts. The rounds will last much longer and you should have lots of time to farm them teampoints.

Warlord, Karkand and Sharqi all give you great chances for lots of team points, for those who know how to go about it. Note that a heal as a medic gives you one point, but a revive gives you two. Note also that flag captures/neutralises are worth two points, whereas assists are only worth one. Flag defends get you a bonus team point as well as the two combat points for the kill. If your artillery keeps getting desroyed, play as engineer and repair it. Easy points there, and it helps your team with the round.

I don't want to imply that you're in the "kill everything in sight and don't worry about anything else" crowd, but there are significant numbers of people who are. If they would stop playing that way and start helping their team and work towards the round win instead of the uber-K/D ratio, they'd rack up tons of team points. It amuses me to see so many people with their stats massively skewed towards combat - whose team points account for perhaps 10% of their global score. My team points are only slightly behind my combat points, and for quite some time were actually ahead. Now, I know that some people are therefore going to brand me a "medic-point-whore" or a "PKM-noob" or something because I play kits that give team points but that really isn't the case. Yes, I have lots of heals/revives/resupplies etc, but I get them because I play to help my teammates.

If you do the same, you'll rack up 45 in a round relatively easily. I got my Valorous Unit ribbon by accident. And (on a separate occasion) my Meritous Unit ribbon too (40 team points IAR). When I break 200 hours (I'm on about 180 at the moment), I expect to get the Legion of Merit ribbon (50 team points IAR) without too much in the way of hassle too...

Major team points can be done. The problem is that the mindset of a lot of people is that's it's all about the kills. That's fine if that's how you want to play, but it won't get you those ribbons. Play a kit that supports your team (engineer, support or medic), and then help your teammates out wherever possible and capture and defend flags. The team points will mount up. Whatever you do, tank- and jet-whoring will not help you, so if that's how you like to play (no idea if you do or not, so don't take this as a flame) you need to get out of that and fight on the ground.

64 players on Karkand, shock paddles out all the time = easy team work points.

And throw the medic packs down when you get a chance, you'll easily get the 45+ teamwork points.

24/7 karkand servers are great for that sort of thing. Just hang back as medic let them do the dieing and fighting and 45 teamwork points will fly by in no time.

Yep I agree with all of the above EXCEPT that on 64 player servers the round goes by quickly so those IAR time reqs will NOT be fulfilled. I recommend a low player count, 64 player map.

Ditto. My first complete, post-1.3 round was on Sharqi Peninsula, 64-player. There were 32 people playing and the length of the round ensured lots of points for all! I pretty much spent the whole round as a Medic and ended up with 75 teamwork points. A bit ridiculous, really.

All I did was play my normal Medic game: run around capping flags and heal and revive teammates as often as possible. I'd say Sharqi, Mashtuur, Karkand and Wake are amongst the very best maps for accumulating teamwork points, so find a sparsely-populated server with the 64-player maps in constant rotation and you'll probably get those 45 points after just one or two attempts.

Yeah, Wake too. I forgot about that one. I've had a 160-point round on Wake, and that was split fairly evenly between team and combat points, so approximately 80 team and 80 combat points. Nice and easy to get ribbons there.

What you want is a map where flags change hands often - such as those large maps with not many players. It means you can get around behind people and go and cap flags without many enemies around, and they can do the same to your team too - meaning lots of flag points for all. Throw in a few heals/revives/resupplies/repairs and you're laughing...

Sharqi is good, defending and capturing flags is so easy, ive gotten 100+ team points

yea i got mine on a full 64 karkand server as a medic. took me 3 or 4 times to finally get this one but i finally did it at the end of a round. now my friend got his by us playing on a 64 player map with around 10 people on each side and we would go round and round capturing flags until he finally got his.

You still can get a lot of points, an easy one is find an attack chopper and a good gunner =D
