Tear gas is also a good offensive. Say I have a sniper that is laying down claymores or a spec ops guy laying down c4...I can lay down "cover" so the enemy doesn't see the claymore or c4 and everyone is supplied because you're support. It's helped out a few of my clan buddies get expert explosives, they can't see the claymores or c4 due to the gas so they charge in and then BOOM! lol

I will say the flashbang is more effective simply because it has no effect on the user, if thrown correctly. I can toss one in a room and everyone is blinded and I go in and clean house! It basically depends on your style of play.

The unlocks themseves are worth teh money, let alone ghost and warlord alone Edit: ^^ I can see lack of sleep is ruining my grammar/typing ability

I enjoyed SF as much, if not more than, plain ol' BF2 but I fear it's life span is about up.

I still get a few hundred SF servers showing up in the browser. That's plenty for me to get my fix of Warlord...

I'd say the gameplay changes are these:
No jets (thankfully)
Hind chopper (really improves your maneuvering skills)
Unlocks (G36E, F2000, etc (BTW the F2000, which you may know, allows you to use flashbang grenades in vanilla BF2))
2 Unlocks per rank
New maps (specifically, Warlord and Ghost Town, they may be my favorite BF2 maps now)

I believe it is definetly worth it. Besides all of the new maps and unlocks you get a more intense infantry style of game play. You'd have to relearn to fly again. Its a different style. Yet SO much fun.

The gas is extreamly effective if you use it correctly in situations where you might be raiding a room or using it as cover.

It makes the screen start to wave and you can't see correctly... its pretty cool. I think the flashing is extreamly effective as well. ESPECIALLY on tanks.
