Perhaps a lot of complaints is relative. It's what, .07% of the players out there? Most purchasers don't even know the forums exist. Yes, EA/DICE listens to the feedback here. But they also know they have to make changes based on the expectations of tens of thousands of active players, not just the same 25 people that complain here daily. Business is business, and the customer is not always right, however much we would like that.

Yes but when alot of those players that dont know about the forums can no longer play...they will simply stop playing and move on to another game. Not that I care one way or another...EA/Dice are just shooting themselves in the foot.

Most of the whining I see going on are people complaining that they can no longer play the game due to crashes etc.... And you know what they should whine about it. The paid just as much $$$ for the game as everyone else and because they express their opinion you call it whining. Squad hopping...could care less...flying jeeps...could give a crap as well....Not being able to play due to crashes that the patch caused....COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY UNEXCEPTABLE!!!

While i like the new things they have implemented i am still with the majority of people saying that the bugs should have been fixed before they messed about with gameplay nerfs and new features

It didn't balance the J10, so it sucks to me.

Then learn to fly, i like going up against J10s, specialy when they cry. The only thing that bugs me is the server browser, other than that its fine, and i have all my favorite servers already saved.

I belive one of the petitions against the 1.3 patch had 10,000 signatures.

and find a single post that doesnt mention anything negitive about the patch.

I for one, find that if used properly, the vehical drops....can be very devasting. While gaurding a flag, me and another teammie saw, 3 vods, comming in at us full bore filled with guys. At first I thought..WTF>>>> how in the hel...........ahhhh commander drops ok. At any rate, forget squad hoppin' , these attacking vods, didnt need it.

Alot of guys whine that now it takes forever to get back into the action, so to speak with the elimination or nerf, of the squad hop. I find that vehical drops negate this very well.
If you have a decent commander, and find yourself out in the middle of nowheres, and tired of walking.......... a quick drop of a humvee and your on your way.
One more thing, for DICE, would be the allowance of tank, and helo drops. Now this at first sounds alarming,however, within a round, this could be used ONLY once, so it would have to be a calculated drop at the perfect time.
That would be pretty cool. It could cause more camping, but really, it could eliminate it as well.

Eden, good point. I have been following the official feedback thread at EAUK as well and overall the news does not look good for Patch 1.3. Also I guess it was also inevitiable to see how commanders are abusing the new vehicle drop feature that some are calling 'Cartillery'.

I think this is a general trend in s/w --> you only hear the bad news.
We have stuff running with big telcos and the only real contact you have with them is when they find a fault or something crashes. We've gone though 2 month cycles where we've (design/devs) heard nothing from them and had to ask management to give us a report, turns out they were happy enough, they only talk to us when something goes wrong ....... same thing here. In design you get used to only hearing the bad stuff......

What good does knowing about the forums do? More whiners for EA to notice? Perhaps. It's more likely that 98% of players have no serious problems and they just play the game as is, instead of trying to get EA to shape it to exactly their own personal selfish specifications. If they do have problems, I hope they do move on and try a different game. Perhaps being more careful buying an EA product next time. Happens all the time, from games, to cars, to toaster ovens. I've been disappointed with games. I may have even had serious crashes with a couple over the years. If I thought the game has potential I'll set it aside until a patch comes out and try something else in the mean time.

If some of you are really addicted to a video game so much it makes you foam at the mouth, you might want to turn off the computer and find out what life is really about.

That is true, but I have to say with the exeption of a few people who like the new squad system the patch honostly seams to be 80MB of a waste of space.

There is a list of the current bugs, glitches and problems and it keeps on getting bigger and bigger. For every bug they try to fix they create two more. And I put it down to the "features" they keep adding, they have done it with almost every patch and I belive that these added features is whats causeing thebugs.

I've no idea why they insist on adding features when all people want is bug fixes.

Complex to you, to a team of suposedly professional programmers fixing bugs with the right tools isnt that hard. What make it harder is fixing bugs when your adding features it makes no sense at all.

The main reason for a patch is to fix bugs, why they havent consentrated on this I dont know.

Other than long load times, i think the patch is fine. Yes, my game shall now lag into eternity (even with a ping of 50) but i've been dealing with that with since 1.22 so i can put up with it. Air-dropping jeeps is awesome.

I think most of the bugs are "fixed". Its just that they are included in BF2142.

In all reality, why make a game 100%, when your next bread and butter is shipping, within 5 months?

Fair enough, I just play the pubbers so if I mention clan styles I'm just talking out my arse but I have to say that the squad thing is growing on me, at least if you are defending a flag and you kill 6 guys you can relax a small bit. WRT the car drop, I had one land on me, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. To be honest I've not seen much of a difference between 1.22 & 1.3 apart from the browser ping thing but I can live with that...
