Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying. If people hadn't bitched about it then, those issues likely wouldn't have been addressed. Who liked being raped by Blackhawks? Sure, it was fun when you were doing the raping, but what about your victims? Good change. I personally don't care about awards, but some people see it important, so they lowered that too, and if the majority believes it to be so then it's a good change. Grenade launcher whores were a real bitch - turn a corner, and WHAM, nade to the face. Me and many others were likely glad that they did away with that ****.

But what ****es me off is when people tell others to "stfu" and "stop bitching". One of the purposes of this forum is for people to voice their opinion on certain matters, and being told to "stfu" by uppity assholes who think they're better than everybody else. That was what I was trying to make a point with my US argument - If the colonists didn't bitch, what would have changed? If the people didn't bitch about BF2, what would have changed? That's what these forums are for.

Stilla Killa: Then that was obviously a mistake on EA's part. While EA has made many good changes based on feedback, that was obviously one they keyed in on poorly and was thus recieved poorly. But people can bitch, as they have in the past, to try to get some change. It may work, it may not, but that's what this forum is for. People need to bitch, things need changing, otherwise we'd be stuck in the Middle Ages.

I agree this is a bad place for making friends. I think the reason most people are quick to say 'stfu' is the attitude of the complainers. The 'colonists' didn't whine and whine and whine, they knew what needed to be changed, and demanded change, then decided they'd be better off without England since the changes didn't happen and were bad enough to warrant that reaction. Just like modern days, you protest. But when the protests get less-than-civil, you get the anti-protests. People then begin attacking eachother. The problem is that most folks are not okay with having an ordinary debate, and aren't okay with being proven wrong. Some people jump to inaccurate conclusions about the other person's intelligence, and you just can't do that if you want to get ANYTHING done.

Nicely said. It would probably be better, though, if the STFU'ers would just ignore posts that they disagree with, and move on to another topic. If you disagree with something, It's better to logically and reasonabally state why so, rather than a generic STFU that's more likely to incite a flame war than the attacked user Shutting The **** Up. But, like many things, that's also unlikely to change.

In defense of the STFUers, I think that they are worried that the complainers will actually get the changes implemented if they let them go on. But like you say, EA won't listen to the random complainers, and I disagree (only somewhat) to that.

Who cares about post count? It's as big of a ****ing contest as Ranks are in BF2.

But yeah, I can see the logic in your argument. But after reading through many of the hot debates on this forum (such as the firing-while-jumping debate and such) STFU'ers rarely, if ever, seem to succeed in their aim to discredit the person they're attacking, instead turning a reasonable debate into a flame war with comments like "SQJAUH D HOPPGOINNG ROXXXX" and "NO WAY MAN SQUADSDD HOPIOING SUXXORZZZ U SUCKZZZ LOL" destroying the original thread.

Understood. I'm going to try and re-rail this topic before it gets locked...

In regards to the protest itself, I congratulate the makers of the films and the instigators of the protest in their efforts to stand up to EA. I am in full support of your efforts, and whether you succeed or not, you'll be noted for trying your best to make a change.

Ah, here we go again with the silencing of opinions. While I do agree that their demand is rather unrealistic, telling them to shut up isn't going to do anything but anger them and incite flame wars.

How about the silencing of 800 new anti EA threads? The totalbf2.com community understands the general 1.3 view yet we see new threads popup time and time again ranting against it - many from the same users.

So yeah, I think a good stfu is in order.

Agreed, I think an admit should dlete ALL the anit and for EA threads and just make one thread for each. And all comments would go in either or.

It would be better to just ignore them. All of the STFU's in the world will not stop the Anti-EA posts and rants, you'll just be giving them the attention they desire. Let the moderators deal with it if it is a problem.
