Sorry mate but all i can say is, suck it up. They still have to send out the hotfixes and etc so the problems will be fixed. If youre willing to drop one of the greatest FPSs of its time, more power to ya, good riddens.

I think BF2 had and still has MAJOR potential, EA/Dice have screwed up with what seems to me with rushed release resulting in missing features such as laser designator (2005 E3 BF2 Video) and bugs (CTDs and Red/Blue tag glitch) and rushed patching the whole role back to 1.00 (I think) thing, and clearly 1.3

I still stand that BF2 had the potential to be a game that would be an example of what to do with regard to content and gameplay, but after sale support from EA/Dice has been dire.

I must agree with you there. One of the most amazing concepts for a game BUT the bugs ruin it. Other than that, the game in general is a major plus for DICE

I've never complained about this game before, apart from bitchin about how jets were taking the fun out of the game due to their invulnerability (thanks Dice for fixing that one). However, I can now officially take BF2 off of my hard drive and enjoy the summer because this latest patch has really ****ed me off to the point where I'm no longer going to play it. I can't see who's playing on the server, or any server information whatsoever now. How come they screw things up when they were working ok? I don't get it. I would expect patches to gradually improve things, not gradually make them worse. Thanks BF2 for providing me with about 250 hours of enjoyment - now it's off to bigger and better things (and no, this is one guy who won't be buying BF 2142 or whatever it's called).

I also, have never complained about the game before. I play for fun and have always accepted the patches even if i haven't always agreed with all the changes. It's just a game after all. What I am now completely disgusted with is the fact that I can't even play the damn thing for more than 10-15mins before the server I am on crashes kicking everyone. I have played certain servers regularly (280hrs played) and have only lost connection once or twice. Tonight in 3 hours, 4 different servers, they all crashed several times.
Thank god for x-fire, because without it (or something similar) you can't find any damn server info in game to give to friends who want to join you. I daren't play engi or sniper at the start of a map on a server i don't frequent (trying at moment to find one that doesn't crash) as i cant tell if FF is on or off.
EA/Dice need to add a new badge, basic to be awarded to anyone who can play 5 rounds before the server goes down.

No, it reached its potential in 1.0 form. It did seem a tad rushed, but it ran ok (for me anyway) and was a great online game to play. But alas it's caused me too much grief, I tried hard to meet the inadequacies of the coding and patching half way by living with the changes they made to the gameplay, but I failed.

However, there are other good titles from other developers around the corner and with luck, they should have learned from EA/DICEs mistakes and make sure what ends up being released is both reliable and true to what was offered in previews. And I'm not talking about BF2142, that would have to be an absolutely amazing title to warrant me surrendering my money to EA again. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

The only patch complaining threads that are necessary are ones like the one Craig started which was a very well written letter to EA/DICE.
