i would bet that more than half of CTD are video driver related. Try doing some troubleshooting before jumping on the EA hate wagon.


Even funnier is that i see people posting negative comments because they heard it was bad. Heard it was bad? Are you serious? That's nice, i am glad people make judgements on things they have not tried. If you have not tried it then you are no position to comment whether it's good or bad.

I voted yes. Squad hopping/cycling has never been of any real concern to me, as the squad leaders I've played with have rarely, if ever, left and rejoined after they've died. The vehicle drops are a rather cheesy, yet somewhat welcome addition. They're an honest attempt by EA to make up for the mobility lost in the squad hop nerf, but I think It's absolutely ridiculous that commander can drop an FAV on a tank and blow it up. It's a soft impact, how realistic is that?

I've been suffering from the screwed-up pings in the server browser and the crashing to the desktop that others have experienced. I'm holding out on EA releasing a hotfix before AF comes out that will fix these issues, and maybe, just maybe, nerf cartillery by preventing it from damaging vehicles and just sliding off, much like supply drops currently do. This will destroy this cheese tactic and allow car drops to be used for what they were originally intended; providing transport to squads/players in isolated areas.

The only people really bitching about this patch are those that squad hopped thinking that was an OK strategy to win a game. For those of us that didn't squad hop in the first place and that prefered TRUE squad gameplay....this patch levels the playing field. The idea is to join a squad and work together, not squad hop to whatever squad is doing well at the moment.

Patched up last night, played for two hours....no issues so far. So I vote yes.

the big problem is say u get kicked out of a squad for some reason now ur screwed b/c u cant join another squad or thats how my friend put it. also i switched teams the other day so me and my friend could be in the same squad and i couldnt join any squad.

Nope, hate this.

First of all, why add things like vehicle drop after the game has been out so long?

Vehicle drops are totally being used to cause all kinds are headaches, like dropping on comm. assets, helis, planes, or roof tops.
[sarcasm]I am sure they did not intend for them to be used to take out comm assets, so there must be a patch coming to fix that.[/sarcasm]

Squad system, I am still not decided on this. I never squad hopped, but I did cycle once in a while. I think I can get over this..

But for me, releasing a patch with as many screw ups as this totally ticks me off.

Until EA does something really, really great for the community, I will not spend another cent on them. No Armoured Fury, no BF2142. I will keep playing BF2 becuase I have so many friends that do and we have fun. If not for them, I would file my BF2 disk in the garbage.

Do u see any more joining squads than before? I don't.
Do u see people keeping there squadleader alive? I don't.
Do u see many squads moving & operating as 'Squads'? I don't.
Do u see more teamplay now? I don't.
I believe there are more 'Lonewolves now than there ever have been!

BF2 has its flaws, but in my opinion 1.1 was the best, and the most fun. How many patches have we been through now? Anyway BF2 just seems like a bloated mess at this point

My vote is no, because I hate what they did to squad spawning. I also noticed that the server list refresh function is completely screwed up.

Most of the stuff is just fine by me. Squad hopping is a minor problem but nothing to big. Whats most iritating for me is the server browser glitches. I made a short video demonstrating my problem on these forums.

I don't have problems with patch, nor with squad-jumping fix, but air drop vehicles? WTF? Rather the doing this sh*t, they could of fixed some bugs, add some maps, or do a thing that been requested by comunnity, they did nothing of this, patch is pointless.

Nobody is forcing you to play this game, or even to patch up...

Correct in a matter of speaking, however you go from a possible 1k populated servers ranked, to a measly 100 MAX, so in a way it is forceing you if you don't want to stop playing.

i agree EA should start listening to the comunnity. imo this patch was only released to patch bf2 for the new up comming mod armored fury! i installed the patch last nite and in the first 30mins i had crashed to my desktop 3-4 times;( so its a no vote for me!

I vote no. Don't get me wrong, I love the game and Im going to keep playing, but version 1.1 is better than v. 1.3. If u were to ask 100 first time players to try both and say which is beta (or alpha) and which is retail, 99 of em would say v. 1.1. I played v. 1.1 for the first time yesterday (I didn't start playing until v. 1.2) and had a blast.
It seems like they can't stop nerfing assault. The latest thing with the GL is that it takes a few milisec. longer for the animation to show a hit, so you can't switch to your primary and go to the next target for just that much longer. Bottom line, lone wolf is dead more often against a small squad or group.
By the time the patching is over there won't be anything fun for ground pounding lone wolfers at all. They're turning it into Americas Army.
