We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
OK so I load up game, join a server, it loads, then when I click join game it crashes to black screen then back to desktop... Then I restard BF2, join a server and it works. Then just now I try to join a karkand server, and it crashes again twice in a row! WTF this is ****ing me off. I installed the full 1.3 patch today.
I have the same problem and i simply cant get my head around it. I have reinstalled coutless times, no anti virus running.
I tried pressing escape it didnt work for me, any server is the same, single player is fine.
same with me it crashes me to desktop after clicking the joing game..and i opened bf2 again and change my setting to all medium xcept geomtery and texture on high and it worked..i think that its the graphics card or something i dont know but it worked when i lowered my setting to medium. it never crashes me like this to desktop, it only happens when i installed 1.3 patch
i got pentium 4 3.0ghz and 2 gigs ram and x800xl256mb(could this be the problem?)..by the way im using 6.3 cat driver.
Same here. I load up the entire map and then I go and hit "Join Game" and then it suddenly crashes.
What really ****es me off is my story --> bought bf2 a few days ago and when I try to play online I always get "Invalid CD Key" error - so I went back to best buy and exchanged it for another copy. I install it up - install new drivers - now I'm really happy because i'm not getting "Invalid CD Key" anymore but when I go to hit "Join Game" it crashes.
Gee, thanks EA. I haven't played BF2 online at all yet, you lucky bastards :cry:
dont know what you guys are talking about, I installed 1.3 about 30 minutes ago, joined a server, and it worked perfectly no CTD's or nuthin it didnt lagg either. I dont know if it is just luck or i just did it the right way. All i did was from the 1.22 patch i downloaded the 1.3 incremental patch from www.battlefield2.com
Did you also purchase or install any Expansion or Booster Packs?
If so be sure you installed them correctly. Sometimes its best to install only BF2 with latest patch, test it online then install the others and of course re-patching after they are installed.
Also be sure you installed the latest patch from EA which is 1.3 and I strongly recomend you get the Full patch not the incremental.
Ive found FileFront to work well and fast for that.
Had 2 CTD's last night, and 1 complete restart in several hours of playing. Haven't had these problems in quite some time, 1.22 was running great - maybe one CTD tops in months of play.
I cant play bf2 any more I never had any problems before, not even red tag bug. But it CTD every time i click join game. Well done Ea/Dice you deserve a punch in the face. Oh and look up "PLAYTEST" and "DEBUGGING" you'll find them useful.
Can it really be considered a patch if it messes up more things than it fixes?
I randomly disconnect from any map and bf2 crashes sometimes when i hit Join Game after it loads. Didn't happen at all during the last patch...
