Exactly.. what is the problem with the jeeps? As far as I am concerned this adds more options for teamplay.

#1. Chopper drops some guy off in the wilderness on a map, commander drops a jeep next to him. Instant chopper killer.

#2. Man takes boat to wake island or across river at a previously remote point. Commander drops off jeep an viola instant mobile squad.

I just think a lot of you are ****ed off because of the squad leader thing. Just admit it thats your one beef with the patch that you cannot squad switch anymore. Guess what maybe the SL will actually have to LEAD instead of just being a multiple player spawn point.

I will be pleased with this patch if they fixed two things that really bug the heck out of me:

1) red-tag bug
2) AT missiles going through jeeps and armor

It doesn't sound like either of those two problems have been fixed.

I don't mind the squad changes. I don't mind if they changed or fixed some stupid crap that I have never even imagined, let alone witnessed. I don't mind them spending way too much of their time developing even MORE planes for people to TK each other for.

But if they didn't fix the crap that EVERYONE has had to deal with on a regular basis, then...

Well, let's just say I look forward to some other company coming out with a similar product.

Of cause its the squad switching which is more anoying than anything. This game is mediocre at its best. WHat made it good is its fast paced action, which was due to spawning where you want nearly. Now thats gone!!!! WTF. Its not a relistic game by any sense. Operation Flashpoint is that. This is a ACTION game, not simulator/relistic game!!! Fast paced fun, and now thats gone!!! People who spend time to get good at this game keep getting kicked in the teeth. These people are the ones that paty for these servers you play on. So before you slate people for whining, Cough up some money and pay for servers yourselves!!! You wont will you, specially when you see how much EA charge for them,Average £3 - £5 a head per month. Thats £80 for 16 player a month, £160 32 player and £320 for 64 player!!!

These are the people who arnt happy with this game!!! SO before you idiots who dont play the game seriously moan about people moaning, Think about how much were paying for EA/DICE to kick us right in the teeth!!! MORONS!!!!

OFP:AA and OFP2 is the one DECENT players are waiting for, Show EA how its done :)

I know i have a point!!! I know and can see 'children' coming on here moaning but im putting a serious point up. EA/DICE are ****ting on the people that give them the money!!! I for 1 will not buy any EA games in the future, As there all s**t anyway. Only thing ill miss is some of there sports games cause of there monopoly on sports these days. But PRO EVO RULEZ anyway :)

Not quake wars, Operation flashpoint Armed Assualt for me. THen OFP2 with a little of stalker on the way :)

CAN I JUST SAY, IGNOR ALL OTHER THREADS, THIS IS THE ONLY ONE WITH THE SERIOUS POINT ABOUT EA/DICE PATCHING!!!! :)

I'm happy with the patch so far. No problems on install, the game looks the same as before.
I got expert knife without killing anyone and a couple of other medals right at the beginning (if someone cares about that)...
Except for flying jeeps, it's the same game.
I noticed I get owned more in close quarters, maybe some weapons are improved…
Let's play some more!

The main bad thing i hate about this new patch is the NO SQUAD SWITCHING!!! Now this is going effect clans more than public, and public and going give a flying S**T about it cause there normally rambo's anyway and dont use teamwork. But for the backbone of the suporters(clans who pay for servers!!!!) its a giant kick in the teeth. It means in clan wars, theres going be a squad leader, who simply holds back and does nothing, not a thing!!! just becomes a spawn point. SLows the games pace right down which was the only thing going for BF2 anyway. Exit11 have resigned and many other clans are following suite. The jeep in conquest matches causes all sorts of complications too.

Good for public but not clans or "serious players"... sorry that is pretty silly.

If anything it would be the otherway around because like you say above public servers are nothing but rambos so squad hopping would be a benifit for teamwork on those servers. VS clans that should be playing as a squad to begin with and have NO NEED to hop... No instead you have to fight for your little lame clan 8v8 matches and wanting to battle on 64 person maps and be everywhere at once...

And you think clan players are serious when they allow and support squad hoping and cycling????? Please give me a break. I have played in BF2 tourneys that last 10 weeks, 3-4 practices and 1 12 hour 64 man battle EACH week. Your team (120+ players) would FORFIT if you ever got caught SL cycling or messing with squads.

Don't know how you think this game was supposed to be played, but it is VERY obvious squads and SL spawn points was NOT supposed to be there to allow squad hoping and SL cycling... You know it and everyone else does too.

AND YES the SL is SUPPOSED to stay back and stay alive, so HIS team that he LEADS can continue to spawn on him. Makes perfect sense to me...

I agree that the jeep drop may become a problem, I really do not see this as much of a value added feature.

Yes I also agree they should have fixed some of the problems like red tag bug, glitches (if they are there w/o using cheats), AT missle hit problems.

I also agree you should not buy another EA game, I for one do not really want someone with your attitude following me to 2142...

wouldnt some people agree that some maps, especially Karkand are too fast... personally id much rather have a slower game which will put the emphasis back on teamwork... after all whats the point in squads etc if people dont use them for what they are for??
dont get me wrong, i dont want a slow ploddy game like a first person command and conquer but maybe this squad fix will put the emphasis back onto teamwork, which is why ea introduced squads and positions of command in the first place.

I'm glad they fixed squad hopping. You should have some sort of incentive for taking out the squad leader. He should be a protected member of the team. Before this patch, "everyone" was a squad leader. It meant nothing.

Think about it, then anyone with half a brain in your squad can revive you!!

No matter what you say you know there isn't a game out there that can still even come clause to BF2 and that is still after a year of its release!

DanDirk - I take what you said onboard and i say........... Enjoy 2142, im glad that you wont be following me to OFP:AA & OFP2 . But each to there own. ANd they are very slow pased but thats because there based on REALITY!!! Unlike BF2!!! Fair play if you want to give EA your money for half complete games!!!

Back to the subject of squad switching. If it was an exploit, why didnt EA/DICE do something about it in 1.01 patch???? Hey, hey (Dont answer actually, they dont fix anything!!!) The 1 thing (and only 1 thing just latly) i loved about BF2 and kept me playing through these god aweful patches was the fast paced, squad switching fury of it all on city maps. Im a chopper whore on the other maps yes but hey, each to there own. Nothing like 6 of you going round showing people who's boss i say! Now thery just slowed that right down and all it means is squad leader just wont engage and will be hiding well out the way lol. So it may as well be 7v7 or 6v6 really aint it lol, not 8v8. Cause thats all thats going happen.

i love infantry only and often play on waib server. Unranked and awesome and you get no idiots on there because theres no ranking system on it. I find myself playing unranked more and more just latly and im loving it. Im actually enjoying the game more than i ever have. The ranking system seems to turn people into complete ass wipes imho.


I hate public servers anyway and thats my opinion and im allowed that. Its the clans that made BF2 what it is today, and now there been repayed by a kick in the teeth. I only been around the BF series since BF2, i had a life before that lol. But if it wasnt 4 clans you probably wouldnt have had BFV, never mind BF2!!! And i dont see public coughing up the cash for these servers!!!
