Please Haelp A Noob

I have only 2 basic questions. I am new to BF2, and need these answers.

1. I have 142 points. How does this unlocking weapons work? Will it unlock for me auto..or do i have to actually go to a www.? and choose my unlocks. And how will i know when i have enough points to unlock next weapon?

2. what is the console command to see fps.

appreciate an answer or any info. thanks.

When you have enough points, you will get a rank promotion in game. You should get unlocks at 500 points.

Don't stress too much, the default guns are quite usable.

Log out of BF2, then log in again, you will get to choose your new weapons. There's no magic website to visit.

1. When you reach a certain amount of points, you gain a new rank. These amounts are preset. For every rank you recieve unlocks. When you get your rank, finish the round you got it in, and quit out of the game. Go back in and a screen will pop up asking you what weapons you want to unlock.
2. renderer.drawfps 1 to turn it on and renderer.drawfps 0 to turn it off.\
also google FRAPS for a VERY good FPS counter.

when u are in the game menu, click on BFHQ and you can see your progress and alll your stats and awards. It shows u a progress bar of how much u need for your next rank. You can also go to bf2player.com and see detailed stats there.

First unlocks occur at 1000 pts i think

Nope the first unlock is at 500 (lance corporal)

Sorry to but in but I have just reached the first unlock stage in bf2(500 points) I have unlocked a new sniper rifle but I cannot use it, don't know why. Anybody know why this is??

Have you signed out of BF2 and back in? basically restart BF2 and go to BFHQ at the top.

On the spawn/kit selection screen, you should see an arrow next to your kit. click it.

I just wanted to leave a comment about your choice of name: Thanatos (the personification of death) was going to be my BF2 nick but it was already taken.

I ended up making a community name with it though! *glee*

I'm pretty sure your questions have been answered so I'll leave it at that.
