bombers F-15
Ok i learned this last night. sence many players wont get good f 15 pilots. Tell the pilot ( If not good) that hes crap and/ or that the the F-18 is better in all aspects. once hes gone try to fina good pilot. now how to get kills with them darn laser guided missiles! Keep the screen down the nose of your plane when going in for a bombing run, actualy, dont ever move it from there. I think you need to be locking on to your target for like 3-5 seconds and no that little doted line on the ground is not a lock. a lock is when it says lock and comes up in text area saying IM LOCKED ON HIM. Its pretty cool really. you can rack up tons of points from your atg missiles and your pilots bombs and ata missiles. you might ask, What do i do when hes not going for a bombing run and heading to our base to reload. Well sence a good pilot goes back over your base every run, this is quite offen. You go back into the reg mode and look for the enemy jets. when you see 1 spot it so your pilot can get right behind him and blast away, this means more points for you. Darthdean1600

I finally got a chance to try out the laser-guided missiles on the F-15 for the first time, during a match on 'Clean Sweep' this weekend. I will say that just because you wait for lock, that doesn't mean you're guaranteed a kill with the missle. Use your mouse to guide it toward the target (but unlike a chopper TV missile, you don't have to click again). It took me about 1/2 the round to get into a groove, but I finally was able to start hitting targets fairly consistently after that.Comment

I find your actually MUCH better off just manually guiding them in yourself and not waiting for lock. What this means is that you don't need a pilot to fly slow enough to give you lock. It also means that your skill level at using manually guided missles will significantly increase meaning that you can easily do commander asset runs.
As the bombers have very quick reload times for the laser bombs you can get a couple of shots off within a single high speed run. Its VERY frustrating for a commander to lose ALL their assets within a 20 second timeframe :)
If you pilot is chasing another enemy pilot don't be scared in taking a shot at them. Quick tip : the missle will actually rise above the nose if you point your crosshairs at the very top of the screen! You can actually shoot directly in front of the bomber by aiming like this.
Bomber gunners need to stop trying to get lock and think of their missles in the same way heli gunner regard their tv missles. The bomber tv missles have the biggest damage radius of any personally aimed weapon in the game (not counting artillery).Comment

Ok the maps for good bombing places is kubra dam, operation clean sweep. the oil fields arnt great cause too much senery overloads the system sometimes and trees block everything. And the 1 bomber in gulf of oman is not to bad if the usmc is all in apcs cars tanks and ground stuff, but normaly their not so i voted it off. In the end it comes out to be kubra dam and operation clean sweep because of the huge areas to get yourself lined up and almost everybody is in a ground thingy. and if you have seen that paris hilton post " Oh NO! it cant be" well its bs and the kid dosnt have a chance. HAHAHA well remember always ask for a good bombing pilot and when ur getting chased start spoting the chaser. Good luck and happy huntingComment

Bombers are a great way to get points and to have fun.
When you get real good you can manually guide you missile into assets and even other planes.
Don't wait for a lock unless you really can't hit things without it.
When an enemy fighter locks onto your bomber, if you are missile guy, use VOIP/chat and the behind view to tell your pilot the enemy fighters position

If you are in the SU-34 on Gulf of Oman, and if the server is a high capacity server, ALWAYS blindly fire a missle around the vehicle spawn points on the carrier. If there happens to be a few people on the carrier, the blast radius is so incredibly huge from that missle that you are almost guaranteed a kill every time. I got a gold medal by doing that once. At least 3-4 kills every time my pilot came around.Comment

Sorry for reviving a few month old thread but has anyone else got any more tips as i'd like to get into bombing. Couldn't get used to the laser missles but i realise now its best to lock for a newbie. Any other tips for sucessful bombing as co-pilot in an F-18?Comment

Don't be afraid to take shots you're almost sure you'll miss. The time you think you're "wasting" a shot on an enemy jet is the time you shove it up his tailpipe. You have a lot of missiles, they reload fairly quickly, the pilot will run out of bombs well before you do. Spam those babies. My best rounds in the bomber were with a pilot who thought he was in a fighter. Every time I saw the ground I took a shot, about half hit something. I even stole quite a few kills from the pilot by sending missiles out as he was dropping bombs. My missiles went faster, I got the kills. :)Comment

IMHO i feel that the laser missile has been fixed.
I tried to fire with it and it actually works. The best you can do is get into the same squad as your pilot and tell him that he will need to dive slowly towards a target and let you lock onto them, as long he is diving nose towards the target you have a 99% chance of hitting. It happened to me once, on danjing oilfields. I ran outta bomb ammo, and could be ****ed to go back and refuel, i just started to dive towards my enemy and my co-pilot started to rack up kills.
so yeah, good communication is the key to a good bomber team.Comment
