Weird problem?! (SCREENSHOT OF PROBLEM)

When I turn on my computer and click bf2, it runs perfectly. When im done and I quit and leave my comp running then come back to it later to play some more BF2 it seems like it's gonna start up but then it says a problem has occured.. then you can select send or ignore (something along those lines) In order to play again i have to restart my computer..

whats the deal?

I even reinstalled the game too


The weird thing is, is that it hasn't happened in all the months I've been playing this game untill now

Try closing any programs that are running in the background.

This might be due to a memory overload so to speak. Shut down your comp when your not using it to reset your memory usage or just plain restart before you play (improves lag a bit)

Prior to playing I would check out the task manager and click on name then run through the ones that say owner and close what you dont need...I think ifyou close explorer though it will mess things up so leave that, sound card, and video card........

This is likely to do with the copy protection.

Either

a) after playing BF2, start Task Manager (ctrl-alt-del) and close any running process of bf2.exe or ~e5.00001

or

b) play the game using a mounted image and bypass the copy protection altogether.

Something like this happened to me...but only when I used the icon "PLAY BATTLEFIELD 2 ONLINE NOW". Did you happen to do this? When I simply press the battlefield icon, it works fine.

I'm fairly certain I'm right about the safedisc issue...hopefully he'll reply with his findings

I figured it out.

I fired up daemon tools and disabled all the emulation. that took care of the problem
