Just do a search on this forum for "modified content" and you will find a couple hundred topics on it. My quick advise: Reinstall EVERYTHING, then install patch 1.22 and you should be fine
unistall every thing.
go to my computer c:/program files an look for any thing to do with EA even the EA down loader if you have it on remove it.
then check as its removed the profile files from my documents.
after install in this order vBF2,SF then patch.
if installin EF aswell do it this order=vBF2,SF patch EF the patch again.
i had loads of problems with mine at the week end an had to reinstall it 3 times.
if any one seems to get any lagg even if you have a very low ping try updating punkbuster this has solved the problem for loads of my clan members when pointed out to them.
as i run my own server (dedicated) for my lan m8's i have had the same problem when i joined my server.
i even turned pb off and it still kicked me.
but after searching i found the problem.
its called md5 files.
in the levels folder each map folder has a md5 file in it,after removing them BINGO i can join my server.
note.my dedicated server is on a seprate pc,using my copy of bf2 as installation,i create a shourtcut to bf2.exe and change the paramaters to
+dedicated +sp1 +ai
I had read that having your comp overclocked or having non-matched memory can corrupt an install of updates and system files with BF2...don't know how accurate this is, but I removed all but one of my memory sticks and reverted my comp back to OEM specks last time I had these problems. Seemed to work, or it was a coincidence. Dunno, don't care so long as it works, know-what-I-mean?
again try my tip above,and it will work.
the above post about ram failure can be a cuase of some things but i think thats a bit rare as you only problem is geting kicked for unmodified content,
go to levels and remove all md5 files from each level folder thats it.easy :)
