I just dont get it

Alright. Whats the deal here.

I had to do a reinstall of bf2v and SF. I did them in this order

BF2v>SF>1.22 patch

When i go to play a vanilla game it says i cant have modifiyed content blah blah. So i reinstall the patch and then get the same thing. On the other had, if i go to play SF i can play it perfectly fine......whats the deal?

EDIT: ok so SF dosnt work after all. Im realyl confused.

just repatch..for some reason you have to repatch..

But i have repatched 2 times already lol. Ill do it again and see what happens.

EDIT: welp, that makes the 3rd time that i have repatched. Still no luck. I guess the only thing thats left is to just reinstall everything 2morrow. Although i jsut did that 2 days ago...but whatever.

Here's what I did, hope it helps:

-re-installed BF2 about 6 times
-tried downloading patch from several different sources
-tried different patch combinations (full, then parts)
-cried
-reformatted windows
-suspected hardware fault, pulled machine apart, ran diagnostics for a few days
-cried some more
-re-installed Day of Defeat source, haven't had a problem with BF2 since! i.e I've stopped trying/caring

You really have to wonder about a games coding when something like a patch install can go so wrong. Pathetic.
