It does have multi-player but it sucks so bad. The developers even admit they screwed up big time with the coding which is why they completely rewrote the network code for Crysis.

Even for a game thats a few years old, it has some of the best graphics out there. Its definately worth 15 bucks if you can find it for that. I still think its worth the original 45.

yah, the multiplayer was glitchy, and half the time i couldnt keep connected. and some people just seemed invincible. i logged at the most 20hrs online, and i never really felt like i had fun, except taking one of the boats on monkeyisland to one of the distant mountains and sniping. of course there was always a knifer not far behind me, or so it seemed.

however, yes, this is one of the best games i've ever played. between bf2, desert combat and farcry, it is the most played game next to "super mario bros." lol i wish i knew how many hours/days i wasted to that as a youngster.

I just beat it again last night. I had it uninstalled for 5 or 6 months and after reading Bic's enthusiasm for the game, i decided to reload it and have a go. This being the 3rd time to go all the way through it, i chose the 3rd hardest difficulty and i must say it was much more difficult than i remembered. The first 2 times i played all the way through i made it a point to kill everyone i could find, but this time i found myself sneaking past a lot of guys just to conserve ammo and my life.
Even though this wasnt my first time playing, i found something i never was aware of before. After you beat the game, it unlocks a "statistics mode" where you can go back and play each level and, you guessed it, it will display your stats such as shots fired, shots hit, times killed, xx out of xx enemies killed and so on. I dont know if this mode was there from the beginning or if it was added in one of the patches. Either way, its an incentive for me to play some more.

I think i will now start a new game and bump up the difficulty to 5. I wonder what i'm getting myself into..
Another thing i noticed, if you want a more challenging game, turn the music off so as not to give away when nearing an enemy.

on the realistic setting, the enemies WILL headshot you and kill you in one hit..

Oh great.

BTW, did anybody notice in the game, that clocks on walls are tuned to your system clock? Nice little feature i think.

edit: I just noticed the clocks dont move in the camp of the first level. But they do in later levels.

I have a $100 7600gs and run all settings maxed, minus AA and AF. I also run Farcry with the 64-bit mod for Athlon Processors. The mod is pretty nice. There are alot of textures that i noticed weent in the original, and the game seems to oad and run better. And yes, im runn ing the 64 bit mod on normal XP home edition

Yeah bout that.. And if you look closer, i have over 900 bullets for the OICW, which you dont get till the end of the game, and the level Im on is Pier, which is very near to the beggining. God, i love those cheats :laugh:

ya know, if you glide a certain way, at a certain time, you can avoid the chopper bugging you the whole path up the mountainside across from you in that pic?

most of the time you get across and there's a crew hovering above you in a chopper, and goons on the ground down near the pier and up near the ol' bunker. but, if you do it just right, you can get across totally unnoticed and pick peeps off one by one. fyi, to any who do not know this.

Farcry was one of the best ever FPS games. I actually think the single player is better than Half-Life 2. It was great fun, with varied gameplay. The thing that let it down was the multiplayer, which was buggy.

If they'd fixed the hitboxes and lag problems, i'd still be playing it. I remember the fun we used to have on the capture the flag maps. Good memmories.

You're in for a treat. FYI the newest patch is 1.33 but i dont know if they have 2 different versions(i.e. Retail vs. d2d). I recommend you look into it because it has a performance increase and a few minor bug fixes.
