Most people playing this game seem to be either loner nerds or high school kids.

If they're nerds, they're sometimes lots of fun, sometimes indescribably lame. If they're high school kids, they're almost always arrogant, loud, fast, petulant, and easily angered. The kids also seem to like to talk with 12 friends on their cellphones while gaming, a trait that astonishes me in guys, but seems understandable in girls. But then, they grew up playing with barbies and being told to be PC, so who knows... maybe they're just more in touch with their feelings than I am.

Anyway, most of the time, listening to either group is a little disturbing, since to me they often come off sounding like they live in either a very small apartment in NYC with a 15 year old cat and Holst playing in the background, or in a trailer park in Indiana with 14 screaming pre-schoolers, and Metallica blaring away, mixed with echoes of "UAV bingo on fuel".

I have only the utmost respect for the online gaming skills of a lot of BF2 players, but I have to say that overhearing their lives on VoIP can be a little strange sometimes, and it makes me wonder where the truly smart people are... maybe they're out with the girls, or at work, or getting their recreation somewhere other than in a darkened room with a big blue-glowing computer by their side.

Even the dumbest of dumb could do so much better if they joined a squad. Whenever Im not doing so hot Ill join a squad and stick with the leader, thats always a sure fire way to get a little more skill and teamwork in.

Very few good ones out there, and very few people that I actually would consider 'smart' players.

- Medics rushing in first when they are in a squad of guys rushing a flag. WTF?
- Chopper gunners opening up on enemy armor with the chaingun first. WTF?
- Medics and Support not dropping bags when you ask. WTF?

The list goes on and on... =\

I just wanna play with some people that understand that if you're a squad leader and you die...rejoin the squad, spawn on the new leader where your squad was, and continue to press a flag.

Damn EA... now I have to walk all the time. Give us the sprint exploit back then.

Very rarely you find someone who seriously knows what they are doing, especially on large and not well known servers.

I am just beggining to play in the world of BF, but as you all say, normally we have big differneces between new people and noobs...I have had to see guys with badges and a lot of ranks doinf stupid things...furtunetly from time to time I find one or 2 good team mates and I stick with them...but making them understand certain things like attack possitions is rather tough without a mic

I'm pretty good. And smart.
Particularly like (as stated) when you are a passenger in something large and you pull up to a flag. NME just left another vehicle behind. You get out to get it. *BAM* The driver in your *insert BV name here* blows it up.
Hell, I tell people now. I get out and type (or speak if on my squad):
"I was going to use that!"

RE: Missles vs. Chaingun. I'm not great in choppers yet. But when I am the pass in the chopper with the cam missle, I ALWAYS try to get that thing off at armor. It's way more fun to me then the chaingun. So just from a FUN standpoint, why don't people use it more?

Shooting from the boat when I'm trying to be sneaky. Agreed, another one that drives me nuts.

Blazin.uk is right. You need to play on some good servers. By the way, there are some smart bf2 players out there. We just don't talk to anyone, but our friends.

I usually talk ot my friend on the phone when we play. Its easier then voice ip and we both have verizon so its free

I have a lower rank unfortunatly, but this doesn't make me out to be a noob. I still hit 2nd or 3rd, if not close to, every round. But I still have the occasion mistake, or misjudge a situation that costs everyone. It happens. not supposed to, but yeah haha.

Me too... or when you're sneaking in a jeep up to a flag and the idiot in the 50 cal is shooting wildly away at absolutely nothing, and so alerting every enemy near by.
