I think it all comes down to how much time one wishes to invest in practising... And hitting all important first TV-missile...

As a clan chopper pilot, having played loads of matches on clanbase and in cups, I have only once come across a guy to beat me. And he was a solo pilot as well, just a tad better one than me (a nice surprise and learning experiance)...

Though, I can see how an excellent chopper team might beat me, I have yet to come across such a team, in matches or on publics...

I do see though, that the average solo-public-pilot, will be a laughing matter for an experienced match chopper-team...

      And another one:

Once, on oilfields, the match was about halfway when a guy suddenly appeared on the chopperpad and got in before me...
I thought, fine, i'll go gun and made a squad to invite him for Voip...

I started to spot the enemy linebacker ingame and by voip and went to tv screen, not even bothering to mg...
Not once did I get anywhere near a possible tv shot and we got shot down...

The guy reapeared on the chopperpad and abruptly TKed me saying 'if you don't know how to gun, stay away from the chopper' as he took off and got his clanmate to gun...

Since I had been dooing my solo thing for half the match, the enemy chopper remained on the ground...
(I never ever ever baserape or TV uncappables, but the enemy team had simply given up)
So I switched team and showed him a thing or two...

Before the match had ended, he left the server with something like 'you skilless tving n00b'...

      Priceless

Switching seats in chopper should be disabled in the new patch. I can't believe there s a thread about this whore tactics.

You bastard!!!! I gun and fly extremly well and its jerks like you who would rather kill me out of the gunner seat than let me assit you in pwning up on some enemies. Now if you get a gunner and he proves him self an idiot then by all means have him noob ejected. But dont just take the helo by your self as you can get alot of kills via chain gun.

                Re: Solo-ing Attack Choppers

Solo tver's dont **** me off unless someone wants to be their gunner and they leave without them. If there is a guy that wants to gun and is good at it (hit "k" and type "Can you TV?"), let him gun.

I was playing Wake the other day and some jackass in the chopper took me to the edge and killed me, didn't even give me the chance to show him i could TV. So after that i proceeded to take the J10 and ram into him but jump out just in the nic of time, i did that about 3 times before he left. I've also done this other times to a pair of guys that wanted to fly/gun together and they TK'ed me out of the chopper, without even asking me to get out.

See thats the difference right there, soloers are only good at getting one TV out and then having to try to speedily get away. A proper team can swoop in get one off, all the while the actual helo is flying another direction, setting up for the second shot, or getting out of danger. and chopper duel's, for a experienced pilot avoiding a TV or two is no problem, so while you try to obviously set up a TV shot before you switch seats, a team will be firing them off as quickly as possible, even if it's not a good set up, or moving into a position where neither can TV, but the two in the chopper can take you out with the chain gun, with loops, barrel rolls, all the while that chain gun is shooting you at weird angles.

Plus there are a few pilots that use joysticks to fly choppers, and they would rather keep their hand on the joystick then try to hop back and forth from stick to mouse. And with that joy stick they can do some very very intricate rolls and loops, that make getting just 1 TV to kill it, more a matter of sheer luck then skill.

I'm not trying to knock solo pilots, I do it when theres no one around, though I just stick to the pilot rockets. However as a good gunner, usually with a good pilot, solo choppers are easy kills. So beware, good chopper teams are out there on public servers.

Solo TV'ing is lame. "Oh noes, it takes mAd sKillZz to solo", BS, as i have said before video games, do NOT take skill.

For you to admit that you kill people with that out of bounds sh!t is really dumb, what a childish act. Instead of helping that "nOOb" gunner out and let him practice, you go and kill him, turning him into another BF2 jack@ss, great job.

If you are going to solo a attack chopper dont switch seats, its basically exploiting the game, especially when you lose chances of someone locking on you. If you cant tear sh!t up with your standard rockets, then you suck.

                        LoL

Deadman2312 has spoken, so it MUST be true ;l)

Anywayz, I see skill as an ability, usually learned, to perform actions
Hence, more practise, means a better ability to perform those actions...
                        Meaning more skill...

                        Also:
A game of skill is a game where the outcome is determined mainly by mental and/or physical skill, rather than by pure chance.

Well I meant that it's becomes harder on the solo pilot after the first shot, since with a team of two, the pilot can stop for a split second once the gunner has realoaded, and then while the TV is in flight keep manuvering for the second shot, or to escape, while the soloer, has to hop back, then bring the chopper out of the spin, then manuver for the second shot.

I understand that it's really fustrating when your playing with a bad gunner, or ones that use the machine gun against armour or just stay in TV and dosen't use the chain gun when it's more appropriate. It is a sort of skill, because your giving your self a handicap compared to a team of two co-ordinated players.
