§2.3 You may not deliberately hinder your own team or acting in such as way as to cause team mates unavoidable deaths or team losses.

This is one hell of a bad rule.

The way the commander's score is calculated is the AVERAGE score for all of the people on your team.

If a commander kills,captures a flag, or assists in some way. It doesnt reflect on his score. Im pretty sure they dont. Ive gotten 10-15 kills and only have a score of 10 without any teamkills to hold me back. and assists and cap flags dont record.

So how can a commander maximize his score? Dont kill. Dont arty. Dont do anything that would make your teammates loose kills. The hitch is, to get the 2x your team needs to win. If your not using arty. That might be a pretty hard one to do.

So when a commander is a plane killing loads of people. hes taking away from his own score. by killing and taking score away from teammates. and taking a plane which a teammate could be using to do a better job then the you.

So when admins limit the commanders from vehicles. they are technically making the commander more effective and making the commander's score better.

but ROE shuts down servers who have this rule.

Commanders not being allowed to fly is a perfectly acceptable rule under the ROE.

I quoted the rule from the ROE thing. it clearly says that you cant prohibite commanders from flying.

The rule is saying you may prohibit commanders from flying because it hinders your team. The commander flying is being used as example of what you can prohibit.

It's legal to kick a commander becuase he insists on flying instead of doing his job.

I thought he was riding in the chopper, not flying. Riding in the chopper is perfectly acceptable and, sometimes, better since you're a moving target. I love servers that kick/ban frequently for this.

Yuppers, warn and kick people all the time for it. Also if your commander isn't doing his job, he can be asked to resign or do his job. If he ignores the warning he shall be kicked.
Can't win the round with a commander whoring around on the map.
