OMG here we go again! WHY DO YOU CARE? TELL ME? Whats it matter to you if there are K&P servers in your server list? Are they getting more kills with K&P's than you and a nice little badge that means diddly crap in real life?
I just do not understand the whining and blubbering you guys do about something that has absolutely no effect on you or your personal game....? Yet 1/2 this board has cryed mommy over these servers.
You know what it is? Your jealous! You want to go play in them, but know its against the precious ROE and don't want any of your buddies catching you in one, so you whine and cry....thats EXACTLY what it is! What else could it be? This subject is so old it makes me sick! If you not playing in them, and your not jealous of them, then WTF would it matter to you? I have seen numerous reason why people shoudl care and if you truly think that this topic has been beaten to death then you MUST have come across the reason at one point.
The question is easily turned around. Why do people need to do this on ranked servers? I don't think anyone will complain if you do it on a unranked server . . . so why do they feel the need to do it on a ranked server? When you truthfully answer that question you will also see why people complain.

It's just annoying. There are these programs, BF2RS, BFROE, and these things seem to be unstoppable, but the people who play on them might get reset. It's basically because you see people get reset over this, but nobody seems to shut the servers themselves down. Highly odd.

On a server that doesn't advertise as Knife/Pistol only and is ranked.......everyone on the server agrees and just uses knife and pistol and this is NOT enforced by an admin...meaning no one gets kicked for using other weapons......would you still have a problem with it? It is then not breaking the ROE.

It gives a sense of accomplishment. Sure, it is meaningless, however, so is playing the game. You don't get any reward for having a good K to D ratio and doing any number of things. However, when you play the game I bet you try as hard as possible not to die and to kill the other person first. If not, why play at all?
And don't pretend that you don't get at least a little bit of enjoyment at the end of the round when your name is on top of the list and you are given a gold reward.
Truthfully, I don't particular care about my stats and when I have a bad round I say "no biggie." However, without fail, I always wait to see where I ranked and what awards I got (like most heals/revives/repairs/combat/etc. . .). I bet you and everyone else who "doesn't care" about knife and pistol servers do as well.
