Infantry Maps? No Vehicles?

I play single player only, and im getting tired of vehicles its all bots do, so Im just wondering, is there any maps or mods or anything for like maps with no or crappy vehicles and almost completely infantry so your not getting blasted by a tank every 10 seconds. Infantry fights are real fun for me but rare.

get SF but every map is going to have vehicles just learn how to adapt. but why play single player mp is so much funner

I guess theres no maps that have been made that are infantry based with little or no vehicles?

But you cant really adapt on Single player, they do the exact same things every time and tank whore the whole map, and you cant snipe cuz they bomb u via commander nomatter what you do.

I would play online if I could but 4 years almost 5 i think, and still no sign of broadband coming here.

I pray for a Karky, Ghost town or Sharqi without any vehicles. All great maps that can be ruined.

i happen to enjoy singleplayer - can be fun and a challenge too
it's different

I really don't understand how vehicles ruin a map - if you are on foot, it simply gives you a different challenge. Stop demanding easy mode just because you aren't good enough to play CSS or decent enough to deal with vehicles in BF2

no offense, but 'no vehicles' is a backwards step in multiplayer gaming.

Go play CS if you like the infantry only experience.

BF is synonymous with vehicles but that doesn't mean that maps that are geared for infantry should allow vehicles like tanks and APCs to run amok. I believe karkand would be much more enjoyable without base raping armor. There's enough cheap ass deaths on that map as is. It's bad enough that most armor whores refuse to fight each other, instead they focus on killing as many infantry as possible. Terrible way to "balance" a map imo.

I play city maps pretty much exclusively because I too enjoy the infantry combat aspect of the game more.

But I don't see what the complaints about the vehicles are. I play karkand pretty much every session of BF2 and, sure, I get killed by vehicles, but not all that often.

I think if you are having a problem with vehicles on city maps, especially Karkand, it is not the fault of the vehicles, it just means you aren't doing something right.

Possible problems:

1) (and most likely) you are impatient and run directly from one flag to another instead of sneaking around. I do this sometimes and is usually the reason why I get killed by vehicles. They are taking the shortest route inbetween flags (because they have less to worry about), so if you are taking the same route you will run into them.

2) You run down the middle of the street. Stick to the alleys and the tighter spaces that the vehicles cannot get into.

3) Don't use your sprint unless you have to. This is a big one. I can't tell you how many times I have followed someone or a friend and they are sprinting the whole time (I sprint to keep up). We come around a corner and a tank is there. We both run for cover, however, we don't make it because our sprint runs out.

4) PLAY AT!!!! it's incredible how often I will hear peopel whining about getting "baseraped" by vehicles, however, they will keep spawning at the same point, over and over again, as medic or support. Use the ****ing AT kit, that is why it is there, to take out vehicles. On Karkand, the vehicles are sitting ducks for AT.

Downin, and everyone else, he's said he plays SP because he has only got dialup. its been said twice.

Mate, i believe if you ask nicely theres some modders or codemonkeys around who might be able to help you in configuring the bots behaviour to avoid vehicles. Apparently it can be done for grenade throwing.... try searching for that one and see who was able to give advice there. Then PM them and see if they cant help you out too :)

We've been looking at a change to our ladder on 5v5 matches that'll remove arty, scan, and uav, and it involved messing with the server.zip file in each map - its server side, so I'm not sure what you could do for single player. If you have any comp. knowledge, look into the map folder and see if there's anything in there that you can edit... ?!? Some of the 16 player maps have only 1 tank per side, so I'd play them more if you're trying to avoid armor (kubradamn16 comes to mind).

hmm ya it would be real nice if someone know or could show me how to remove or disable bots using vehicles and the annoying artillery thing. Id appricate it alot please please if you have time, it would increase the fun rate for me in SP. Ive tried editing all the stuff before but it didnt ever remove or change anything. In SP its just bots run havoc in towns through allies blasting everything in site nonstop, and the bad part is bots know exactly where you are all the time so they just blast you right as you spawn or when your hiding or trying to keep distance. Vehicles in SP just sort of ruin everything, bots and all, multiplayer alot different but in single player you hardly even see a bot shoot his gun its either jump into a tank and blast away or throw grenades at sniping ranges.

EDIT- I guess you could say, bots run havoc everywhere crazy in there tanks blasting crap everything they see move like unreal tournament.
