Hey u guys check this site out for some *sneak-peeks* on the upcoming 1.3 patch AND the bf 2142 game:

Coolness, they're going to nerf jets...woot to all us people without expensive joysticks and a poor ol' mouse n keyboard.

I'd like to comment on BF2142...no matter how much they try to keep us calm...this is really scaring me. Look, I like games..period, but I'm not crazy about them either..I play sports, I'm in all GT, have a girlfriend, and other friends to stay in touch with, and I just made it to TJHSST(look it up ) Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology foolorz..I really wanna buy Bf2142 but the interview given on Gamespot really bugs me.. 42 unlocks is ALOT, and the other "features" that you can unlock are: faster/longer sprint speed, HEAVIER armor, more ammo, more health, packs/equipment, weps. Ok, this sounds like a gamer's dream but hell to me. It bascially does this...42 unlocks=MASSIVE GAME TIME. I play 1-2 hours per day if I'm lucky and don't have soccer practice, but i expect to be owned by the crazy gamers who play about 3-4 hours minimum, with these unlocks, by the time I START the game, vets with heavier armor, more ammo per clip(its true, its an UNLOCK) will be pwning every noob only to get higher and more points. I don't think I can compete.

the aircraft will be nerfed [in BF2142] so that they don't dominate the map like they do in Battlefield 2. (Speaking of which, Nilsson says that DICE is currently working to fix that issue in Battlefield 2.)

if theyre gonna fix the "plane dominating" then they should just get rid of jets all the way...if uve seen Tears of the Sun..at the end..1,000,000 rebel soldiers with ak-47s and rpgs and then 2 jets fly by and boom..bye bye rebel troopers

Totally off topic, but congrats on the school. My sister is finishing up her senior year there...hope you're ready to work hard.

Back on topic, I wonder how they're going to nerf the aircraft in BF2. I'm just finally learning to fly now and I don't need it to be any easier for the ground troops so shoot me out of the sky.

by taking care of aircraft issue in BF2 they mean the planes will no longer be able to shoot while in the air.

it really sounds cool but how do we know they wont cut all the cool features before they release the game like they did with bf2?

(flying a helicopter in Battlefield 2 is remarkably as hard as flying one in real life

Actually, it's apparently true.
I was talking to a guy that flys real choppers and plays BF2. He made an off handed comment about how much harder they are to fly in BF2. Real choppers have pilot assist features like auto hover, auto-rotation (in the event of an impending crash), and functional instrementation that lets you know you're in trouble before you smack into the ground.

I've personally never flown a real chopper, but I can see how you can safely say it's harder in BF2. Only thing is, in real life you generally only get 1 crash. No respawn.
