hmmm...'scuse my ignorrence, But what!?

I thought there was no ability for you to use single player bots online with others in your server. That's what they're adding in the patch, the ability to play Co-op, so we've had this ability the whole time?

Not exactly.

When you run a single player game, all it does is launch a regular non-dedicated server and puts in bots.

What will be added in via 1.3 is the ability to make dedicated servers that also have bots. This should allow for bigger bot maps since your local machine won't have to be running the bot AI.

You might be able to pull it off reasonably well.

You'd want someone else to host tho.

It's bassically DOS'ing someones computer, flooding the computer with datagrams, making it go like non-responsive or making disconnect from their network. It's the same with DOS on servers in games, you send a heavy packet flow (DOS) and it overflows giving it too much too process thus crashing the server.

Isn't it..

Single-player is actually a co-op listen server (with very limited configuration options). It just doesn't show up in the BF2 server browsers so you can't easily join unless you know the IP address (or use the "join local" browser workaround if server and clients are on the same network). What they are presumably adding in 1.3 is the ability to run a dedicated co-op server without hacking it and the ability to see co-op servers in the browser.
