Kits ( what can damage a vehicle or chopper? )

I know that the spec ops class can blow up all vehicles etc.
I know that the unlocked sniper gun can kill a pilot.
I know that an anti-tank class can kill a vehicle.

But what about support class? Does the machine gun effect any vehicles? Or choppers?

The reason i ask is i seem to enjoy setting up machinegun nests.. but the second a tank, jeep, chopper come around.. i gotta sit and hide. Id like to know what weapons effect what vehilces...

Does anyone have a chart or link to show what goes threw what? ( ie.. what goes threw walls, boxes, plating.. )

All guns damage jeeps and buggies

The PKM can shoot through thin material (weak fences, wood, etc.) (I think)

No guns damage armour (Tanks/APCs)

Grenade launchers and grenades do very little damage to armour

Grenade launchers can take down a chopper, but you'll have to hit it several times

AT rockets can take down choppers in 2 shots and jets in one (good luck with that)

Vehicle pilots ARE affected by flashbangs (and teargas grenades)

AT Rocket can kill the piolet and ci with one show if shot on the front window...free chopper!!!

Also, if you see a badly smoking chopper, it is worth it to take pot-shots at it with your machine gun. You can be the straw that broke the Blackhawks back and get the points for the kill.

An M95 can take out a chopper if it's in the red. A clan mate found this out while my chopper exploded, lmao.

Best thing to do is watch for the "bloom" that is in your crosshairs when you get an actual hit. Oh, and any gun will shoot through the medal fences.

Jackhammer shotgun (Engineer's unlock) will rip through a jeep or buggy in one clip.

M95, as mentioned above, can do considerable damage to a vehicle, especially a helo. I often use this to distract the attention of enemy armor or helos to buy my teammates time to maneuver around.

Popping shots from any gun at a helo will cause about 40% of pilots to remaneuver because they care more that they are being hit, not how much those hits are taking off of the armor.

Yes, I'll AT rocket a Cobra to shoo it away and then take it out with my sidearm.

I'll take pot shots at armor/planes/copters just to keep them distracted. I've played cat and mouse with tanks for 5 minutes, until they finally realize that one annoying person has kept them out of the action and ineffective for so long.

Also, if you see a badly smoking chopper, it is worth it to take pot-shots at it with your machine gun. You can be the straw that broke the Blackhawks back and get the points for the kill.

If you have a support gun, especially PKM, you can take out cars very fast...

It may not seem like it... but the health inside the car goes down very fast and smooth.. and it scares the **** out of the driver 9/10 and he hops out.

I was in a vodnik the other day, a couple support (2) guys were shooting at me with PKM's and I was out in like 5 seconds.

Since the .50 calibre sniper rifle unlock (M95) can shoot through cockpit glass, is there a reason why other .50 guns in the game do not? I'm talking about the vehicle mounted MG's like on the Hummer, FAAV, DPV, etc.

actually I think they do.


I know you fly jets, so you should know that the cannon on the jets can go through glass. There are other things too... like the SRAW/ERYX, 1 C4, I know I have shot someone out of another car with 1 shot from the hummer's .50 (he was driving).

I don't know. But yeah, alot of things go through glass.

The M95 removes two bars of armor from choppers I believe. I'm not too sure about jets but I know for sure that the M95 does enormous damage to them. If you see smoking jets flying around take some potshots at them. Sometimes I like to camp airstrips and shoot at jets that flyby. After about 3 shots you can get any jet smoking grey.

The n00b tubes can eject chopper pilots and probably jet pilots as well, but it's not easy. Finally, about the AT kit, you can hold your mouse button down after your fire your rocket off to "paint" the target with your laser to annoy the driver/pilot with that dreaded buzzer noise. This works wonders with armor when you've run out of rockets or even when you have lots of rockets it will fool someone into thinking they just stepped into the AT hornets nest.

Come to think of it, I know I've gotten a few kills like this. I would be pursuing an enemy jet and opened cannon fire on them. With the right leading, my cannon fire must've gone through the canopy and killed only the pilot leaving the jet intact. It doesn't happen often, but I have done it (and have had it done to me, too).

I like to do this, as well. Even if I don't have a clean shot, those few seconds of madness that they go through is worth it. It can even make them back up and turn around to go for another flag. Otherwise it's fun to see them frantically scan the surrounding area for the source.

In Wake and Sharqi I have found that well aimed PKM bursts will cause most chopper pilots to disengage. I have brought down a wounded chinese attack helicopter with the AT class.
