As much as I like FH and BF42, I feel that the naval stuff really doesn't work that well beyond subs and destroyers. If you remember, the battleships were so big you could barely see from one end to the other with the fog and the engagements took place from point blank range.
and ohhh my goodness!!! I would love to see naval combat in forgotten hope! Those screenshots look sweet!
Although for the battleships, I never seemed to have a problme with long range engagements. Especially with desert combat's naval combat (that sounded awkward lol....) where the guns were super powerful... Dang i miss that game.
However, imagine a map where the MEC or PLA have a land base with some bombers and fighters, and they have to take off and destroy a US carrier battle group, which has F-35's and F-18's for defense, and destroyers and frigates with AA capabilities. That would be fun.
Iranian naval forces held several exercises in early 2001 to improve their capabilities and also have had exchange visits with Pakistan and India. As a result, defense officials have called for the consolidation of Iran's commercial and military fleets to increase their strengths, overcome any weaknesses, take advantage of opportunities, and address future threats. Iranian naval forces held the three-day Fath-9 exercises in the northern end of the Persian Gulf in Mahshahr during the first week of March 2001. These exercises involved 6,000 people from the regular navy and air force, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps navy and aircorps, the Basij Resistance Forces, and the Law Enforcement Forces.
You guys are forgetting soemthing from BF42 that was so darn fun but lacking in BF2...more than just 2 planes for each team in the sky! Man, I loved it when you had like a dozen planes dog-fighting!!!!
