I also have a couple of questions. How do I unlock the Spec ops weapon. I have the basic badge and I have been promoted to PFC a while back. I tried to search for it but got tired going through 20 pages. How do I run mods? Where do I get the extra maps Wake Isand and the Dam. I tried asking at Planet Battlefield but all I got was sh*t from them so please help

Buy BF2:SF which gives you two free unlocks. Don't bother actually playing the game, which could lead to depression and/or self-mutilation.
Woah! You don't have Wake Island? Go to www.battlefield2.com and install the latest patch. Make sure you download the full, not the incrimental. -

Welcome newcomer.
You dont get unlock in PFC rank, next rank at 500 global score u get first unlock (or two if you own Special Forces and played it a while).
Just remember to use the arrow buttons when you get the unlock and choose the special forces weapon.

I think he means for single player.
You can't play Kubra dam in single player, because they were too lazy to make bot paths for it.
Same with Wake.
To get more unlocks you must get promoted, by getting enough points for the next rank.Comment

And you wont be able to get a unlock before you're lance corporal (500 points). At once you press the log in button in the beginning, you'll get a pop up message saying that you can pick an unlock.
I bet you do got wake already. Since you do have some global points, you also have the latest patch installed. But you wont find the map in singleplayer, as it has no bots. Just do a search for the wake island map in the server browser, and join one. Im sure it will work.Comment

Don't forget you first have to unlock the BF2 weapons before you can unlock the special forces unlocks. So here's an example:
If you want the F2000 Assault unlock of special forces you first have to unlock the G3A3 of the regular BF2 unlocks.Comment

Thanks for all the info. I play both single and multi, but mostly single. sometimes I can not get an internet connection because of the country I am in. I have patched up to 1.22 and still do not have unlock weapons nor the extrta maps. Again thanks and you guys are better then planetbattlefield.

Wake Island, Kubra Dam, and Mashtuur City do not have any SP ability in vanilla BF2. However, you can download SP-enabled versions of these (and expanded SP versions of all the other vanilla maps) from BattlefieldSingleplayer: http://battlefieldsingleplayer.plane...d.gamespy.com/ .
Similarly, you can't use or get unlocks in SP unless you:
1. install an unlock mod such as http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56694 (or do a similar mod yourself which isn't too difficult).
or
2. run a dedicated server on another machine modded to allow bots (or wait for patch 1.3 to do this) and with global unlocks enabled.Comment
