To get some actual intelligent answers you guys should really post this in the Tech section of the forum. No offense, but the people who post in BF2 general, generally know squat about computers.
That being said I think a 6600 GT 256 would be a great improvement over a 6200, but like twsmit suggested a 7600 GT is not much more and would run the game on high settings with decent framerates. Make sure you also spring for 2Gb of ram.

2Gb ram
7600 GT
If you are strapped for cash get a sound card later on down the line.Comment

..and Wreck is very correct, a 3200+, 2GB of Ram, and a 7600GT are plenty to run the game at playable framerates at 1280x1024 on all high.
I managed to pull all high at those resolutions with a 3200+, 1.5gb of Ram, and ad x700 Pro. So, I'm sure a nerver "NVIDIA" card would outdo that.

Wow, people actually still use 800x600?
Having all highs on 800x600 makes no sense at all. do 1024x768 with mediums and maybe a high here and there, or 1280x1024 on medium.

Wreck, he should be able to afford a 3700 or a 3800 with his budget. With a 3200 he'll have room to get a soundcard too, something like an audigy zs2Comment
