Agreed^^. You have to kill them with the explosion of a vehicle for it to be a road kill.

I'm sorry too, because you are wrong.

That is the only way I did it to get my Veteran Transport...BY SHOOTING. The last clown who argued with me over this didn't get it through his head either.

I'll break it down once more:

      I'm going for Veteran Transport...
I have over 50 hours in Transport...
I SHOOT using the .50cal machine gun lead projecting utensil from the 4 wheeled FAV...sitting still, not moving an inch because you can't move while sitting in position 2...

Sitting from F2(position 2)(the one with the big loud .50cal machine described above)...shooting from it and killing the required amount of Road Kills needed for the badge. Again, from the seat that has a gun attached to it and not moving...

I hear a drumroll(still sitting in position 2, still not moving an inch)...Veteran Transport.

So, please tell me once more I imagined all that happening? This is Rome Total War forums isn't it? You can believe whatever you want...or you can hear it directly from someone who not only has it, but got it only in the manner described.

Just checked my brother stats...he is ready to get his Vet Trans. Not that I need any confirmation, but I'll make sure he plays Karkand and uses a Vodnik only to shoot 5 people at the Hotel flag specifically.
I seriously doubt EA has changed the parameter for what a Road Kill is since I got mine 5 months ago...we'll see.

So what your saying is that everyone has identical amounts of roadkills AND kills in "transport" then?? because if what your saying is correct then every kill you make in a jeep counts as a "roadkill"

Just type here how many of each you have via www.bf2s.com and then explain how the 2 figures are not identical.

And lastly you seem to be trying to be sarcastic to get a rise out of me when i have been nothing but polite to you, i would appreciate the same civility i have shown you. thanks again.

No, I am not saying that at all. I am simply saying shooting does count as a road kill as far as Veteran Transport is concerned...as of 5 months ago when I got it using only shooting.

What you suggest does make sense, but it doesn't work out that way...I didn't code the game, and we all know how buggy it is anyway.

You're right, I apologize for that, but look at it from my perspective.
You are holding a can of Coke in your hand, you know it is a Coke can and in your hand, but someone comes along and tells you it isn't a Coke can nor is it in your hand. Quite the dilema isn't it?

Re: More Transport Road Kill Mystery

OK, I just sat down with my brother who has 51:12:xx hours in Transports...checked his stats using the page you linked, 293 Road Kills.

Started up Sharqi Peninsula and hopped into a Vodnik...

He shot 6 lone infantry, no sign of vehicles anywhere around them...just plain people standing out in the open. There was no medal awarded.

It IS possible they have changed the parameters for the Veteran Trasnport medal since Jan. when I received mine...as I mentioned earlier.

I am going to have him try again...I know I'm not crazy. I'm also not a youngster talking out of my ass, so please disregard that as a possibility to any error here.

I'm betting IF it has indeed changed, it has something to do with EA's patch of months ago that was to fix pilots from getting tk's from their passengers when inside exploding vehicles. You remember that don't you? The two do seem to have a connection when you think about it.

If after several tries of shooting fails, we will do the obvious running over them instead. Regardless of whether I turn out to be wrong TODAY...5 months ago I was right.
I'm putting alot of effor into solving this for you guys, seeing as it doesn't even apply to me. I won't be getting Expert Trans for a loooooong time. I'm trying to help.

Now how do you "run over" 2000 people with a jet?

              by crashing into tanks

I've seen good j-10 and mig pilots flying low enough over the carrier and mowing 4-5 people at the time that were standing on the deck.

It's hard to do. I spent a night with my mate practising on a unranked trying to get it right.

It's probably easier against the carrier, but trying to lawnmow people on the runways at Zatar wetlands is hard.

Re: More Transport Road Kill Mystery

Well, it seems Road Kills are now only running people over, and people that die just as they exit vehicles/mounted equipment. Shooting apparently no longer works.

Jets get them 2 ways as mentioned, vehicle/mounted ejections and "winging" carriers...the latter of which I so thoroughly enjoy on Wake.

Re: More Transport Road Kill Mystery

Thanks for clearing that up abtomat74, i got my veteran transport last november and to be honest i didnt know about the requirments back then, i have just always enjoyed running people over They may well of changed the kill type for the award but the "roadkills" have always been worked out the same way, although your right there are lots of bugs that have been fixed since then.

I speak with some experience (140 hours to be exact in jeeps ) i also have 6000+ kills in the jeeps and ~3000 of them are roadkills (i should get expert transport some time this month) and i keep regular check on my transport kills as it is my most used vehicle (rare for a Major)

Bassically what im saying is that i am glad we could get to the bottom of this mis-understanding without flaming each other to death, no hard feelings
