I finally got the Veteran Transport badge after many unsuccessful attempts. It wasn't because I didn't know how to get the badge, i.e. just run people over. I am beginning to wonder if it was a map or server bug.
I tried off and on over a period of a few weeks, but I only tried on 64 Player Karkand maps. Not only did I never get the badge, my stats weren't showing any road kills (didn't figure this out for a while). I had the hours, the driver points and only required the IAR kills. For instance, I drove in a Vodnik, snuck to the spawn area by the arty and mowed people down like an overgrown lawn. Eventually in the round I counted at least 10-15 victims. Since it wasn't giving me the badge, I switched to a Humvee that I stole from the US and proceeded to rack up another 5-10, but still no badge.
Last night I tried again, same story. I decided I was only going to road kill for a round. With the US taking Hotel and Square, it was a perfect set up. I got the Vodnik and went road raging and had 10 kills before the magic run. This run consisted of timing a high speed drive just as a ton of people spawned near square. For those that know the map well, people spawn along the road across from the tall building in 3 places (2 on the road and 1 by the fenced area with the tree). In one run, I smacked 2-3 at the first spawn, 2-3 on the second spawn (where the transport spawns), and 3-4 in the fenced area. I didn't make the turn through the blown up fence, ran into the tree and got stuck. But, I had C4 attached, hopped out, detonated and got a couple more. In total, I had about 12 (10 road kills and 2 C4) in one sweep. All of the road kills listed Vodnik as the weapon. The enemy that watched it happen thought it was pretty funny to watch. The others tried to kick vote. Bottom line, no badge.
I got ****ed and checked my stats. No transport road kills. Searched 3 different forums and all indicated I was doing the right thing. Decided to try to get it on Wake using the DPV. Didn't get it the first round, and decided to blow it off. I happened to get a couple at the beginning of the next round and ended up getting the badge by accident later in the round. I checked my stats and sure enough, it showed all of the road kills from Wake.
Has anyone else had the same problem? Has anyone received the Veteran or Expert Transport on Karkand?
