Need BF2 badge before SF badge?

I apologize if this has been covered already. I did search for it.

I only needed 5 minutes and 20 kills for my BF2 Veteran Combat Support Badge. SF Veteran Combat Badge is 16 hours 22 kills. So I thought I'd knock out 2 birds with one stone. I joined a large SF map and played for over an hour and got like 29 kills.

I didn't get any badges?? I have been awarded the pts.,kills, time, ect. but no badges.?

So, do you need to get badge in BF2 First? Then get SF badge?

i dont believe so

but i cant talk from experience of getting a basic sf over a basic vanilla
but i can say ive gotten some vet sf badges before my vet vanilla badges

if that makes any sense?

were you on a ranked server?

I've run across this a few times. You need to have the time req before the round. Example: if you need one minute, and get that minute in the same round as you get the other req, the badge won't come. This is what I've found.

This man speaks thr truth. Ensure that you meet all the requirements before you start the round. Otherwise you won't recieve the awards by my understanding.

Wait! Can I still try to do both in SF??? Or do I have to get each badge in each game? I have time needed for both.

You'll have to get them in each game. Your time and reqs count for both games but you still have to manually go in and earn them in each one seperatley.

You can get the vanilla badges playing nothing but SF if you want. For instance, for my expert medic, I had the 100 hours time as medic and received my vanilla expert medic at 40 kills and then at 44 kills I received my SF expert medic in the same round playing Warlord.

In fact, I have received everyone of my vanilla expert badges in SF maps. I dont really play that much vanilla bf2 anymore.

You can get the vanilla badges playing nothing but SF if you want. For instance, for my expert medic, I had the 100 hours time as medic and received my vanilla expert medic at 40 kills and then at 44 kills I received my SF expert medic in the same round playing Warlord.

Yeah, I got my vet assault for both vanilla and SF whilst playing Warlord, and also basic support for both while on another SF map (think it was Ghost Town, but I can't remember now).

But the short version is you can get vanilla and SF badges on an SF map. But you can get the SF badges on a vanilla map, even if you meet the requirements. So, say you go into a vanilla round with more 16 hours as assault, and you rack up 30 kills with that kit during the round. You'll get your vanilla vet assault badge (if you didn't already have it), but you won't get SF (because you're not on an SF map). Do the same thing on an SF map, however, and you'll get your vanilla badge when you hit 20 kills and then the SF badge as you hit 22...

Correct-o-mund-o! I got my 'nilla chopper ribbon and screw specialist ribbon while playing on Iron Gator, then also got my SF crew specialist ribbon a few kills later. I also notice that awards earned in SF show up immediatly while those earned in BF2 can take a day or two...guess its a volume issue??
