Re: H.e.a.d.p.h.o.n.e.s
I wouldn't recommend headphones at all for gaming unless you wanna end up with a permanant ringing in your ears like me. I played one too many games with my headphones and now my hearing is ****ed ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinnitus ). Imagine all those other dumbasses that swear by headphones and use them exclusively... Get a good set of surround sound speakers and be done with it. Your ears were never meant for being in the middle of a virtual warzone much less the real thing.

You know I have neighbours and I dont want to wake them up when I bomb the crap out of the enemy in the middle of the night. Besides if you dont turn the volume too high your ears shouldnt get "damaged".Originally posted by bitvomitI wouldn't recommend headphones at all for gaming unless you wanna end up with a permanant ringing in your ears like me. 'using personal stereos at unsafe volumes.'

There is no safe volume if you intend to use your headphones consistently which is an unfortunate side effect of gaming. You and I both know that you will be turning the volume up loud enough to get an advantage over the other playersOriginally posted by pYuraYou know I have neighbours and I dont want to wake them up when I bomb the crap out of the enemy in the middle of the night. . Other than that I would recommend not playing at night or turning your speakers down.

Re: H.e.a.d.p.h.o.n.e.s
Of course it is totally irrelevant of what you use to damage your hearing, irresponsible use of the volume control is the danger. Headphones and all speakers are perfectly safe if you understand what 'to loud' is.Originally posted by bitvomitI wouldn't recommend headphones at all for gaming unless you wanna end up with a permanant ringing in your ears like me. Tinnitus is generally a self inflicted condition that is easily avoided.

Re: H.e.a.d.p.h.o.n.e.s
I have high-grade wireless sennheisers that fit more over your ear than in it, and I'm not a loud listener, and there's no way I'm switching to surround speakers, unless if you're willing to pay for someone to fit sound isolation material in the walls of my room
