PSU Question

im looking in buying a new power supply, i have a 7800 gtx on the way and my 300 watt just wont work haha.

is there any thing i should be looking for like adaptive wise? are there certain wires that are needed or do all power supplies work wherever you put them?

sorry about the noobish question, but i dont wanna go out and buy something that wont work.

and suggestions are welcome too :)

Im pretty sure they hook up to most computer's...im building my own and going with a 550W Antec and it will hookup fine. Maybe I'm wrong dont quote me on this but I think it will hook up fine depending on what type of product you select. I would go with a 520W + PSU, IMO.

although it doesnt look the greatest. It proforms great. It cools all my specs and keeps my computer cool during hardcore games like bf2. And it is a great price too. it may not be as quiet as Antec, but i for sure dont hear it over my 500 Watt speakers and subwofer.

preferably less than $100, but PSU's are fairly cheap

im aiming for psu's greater then 520 watts

Many may disagree, but thats my choice. IMO I would never go cheap with PSU's since one thing could go wrong and I could be in debt with buying computer parts.

Good luck, I would really look at 550W but 520-600 would be just fine to tell you the truth.

PSU is amazing!!!
580W and has modular connections so you can add/remove connections as you wish. You can add up to 12 devices. Plus if you have a case with side window the wires are covered in blue mesh which finishes off the inside of the case brilliantly.
