Re: Vehicle kills should be only 1 point
A few choice responses...
Replace all the talk of Karkand with the more generic phrase "city maps" or any map where the spawns are poorly laid out, and I'll agree with you. Karkand certainly is the best example but Sharqi is another great example of helo whoring, since the US helo usually gets owned before it takes off and the MEC helo and it's awesome cannon blasts everything. Mashtuur is probably the best, but besides a few spawns, vehicle whoring works really well.
As it relates to kill assists and such, why not leave them at 1 point? What's the harm in having things equal? Sure, it's not exactly as logical as the 2 point/1 point system, but it's not like it creates the havoc in the scoring system that 2 point vehicle kills do. For the record, 2 points for killing another vehicle is a GOOD idea since the vast majority of vehicle drivers time is spent killing infantry not other armor (can you blame them? There isn't any incentive to kill other armor if you can avoid it. Infantry die in seconds, enemy armor stands a chance of killing you...).
Notice that in about half of these posts, people talk about nerfing vehicles, how I want vehicles nerfed, more talk of nerfing, I suck and need to be nerfed, I'm a loser and have already been nerfed... etc etc from people who have one track minds.
I specifically did NOT talk about nerfing the vehicles because in most instances vehicles SHOULD be more powerful. I mean... a tank is obviously more powerful then a M16. However, let's not kid ourselves: it's far easier to rack up kills in vehicles then it is as an infantryman. It's easier for exactly the same reason I said before, vehicles are more powerful. All I'm saying is that for the average server with the average players, a player who wants to get a medal should not be required to use a vehicle, as it stands now.
So stop injecting your tired old arguements about nerfing into this discussion, because I certainly didn't raise them in my original post.
edit
And to the guy who is tired of pubbers... I'm tired of people who play competitivly that think BF2 should respond ONLY to your set of players and ignore the vast majority of BF2 players. Since you don't care about points, then you shouldn't have any problem with my proposed changes. No need to bring yourself into this discussion.
