i downloaded it fine
but the file that i downloaded is a...notebook file
why??
its 836mb, so thats a bit big for a notebook file
how do i switch it so i can install it?

me too...mine is .rar if that is the same thing as a notebook file..

.rar file, u need to download a program like winrar to extract it (to a place ie deskyop) then once that completed u find that file (on yer desktop) i& it will install to BF2 form there.

it may have a notebook icon, but if it's not .txt, .doc or other document file, then it's not. Most likely it's a .rar .zip or .exe file. In which case (except executable) you will need WinRAR or any compression program that will handle those file types.

ok guys, it is a winrar file, kind of like a zipfile, you need a specific program to open them, here's a link to the program.
