I would like to join a project with some experienced modders so that I can gain some real experience within a team environment. Here is my resume.

Bathpath Regional Vocational Technical High School. Charlton, MA Class of 99.
Graphic Design Shop. Awarded Outstanding Achivement Award upon graduation.
I worked with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Quark on a Windows platform. Studied the concepts of layout and design and produced multiple books and advertisements for school related organizations.

Clark Computer Career Institute. Framingham, MA Certificate in 99
Graphic and Web Design Course. A average.
Microsoft Frontpage was taught but I prefered to handcode HTML. Also used Adode Photoshop, Imageready, Pagemaker and Illustrator. Produced multipage website with table and frame based pages and a slice based navigation menu.

Gibbs College. Boston, MA Associates Degree in Applied Science 2004
2D & 3D Animation Course.
Studied the history and concepts of art and animation. Used Macromedia Flash and Aliaswavefront Maya to create environments and character animations. Also continued to use Abode products on a Mac platform.

Work Experience

Mass Web Printing. Auburn, MA 1999-2000
Darkroom Technician
Ran the horizontal camera, dark room developer and platemaker for this large web press printing company. Produced many small town papers as well as larger ones such as the Boston, Providence, Portland and Worcester Phoenix.

Handy Publishing. Spencer, MA 2000-2001
Graphic Designer
Created multiple weekly and monthly real estate magazines in a highly deadline oriented environment. Used Adobe Photosop, Illustrator and Pagemaker on a Mac Platform.

Sir Speedy Copies and Printing. Worcester, MA 2001-2003
Graphic Designer
Created everything including concert posters, business cards, network diagrams, legal briefs, resteraunt menus, stickers and album covers. Used Adobe products on Mac and Windows platforms and maintained the network of computers, printers and file servers.

Perini Corporation, Framingham, MA 2005-Present
PC Technician
I build, fix, maintain, modify and order computers, printers, servers and all related accersories for all eastern divisions of this corporation which consists of over 2,000 employees. I also help in programing and security for the IBM AS400 financial system and design the corporate intranet sites.

Exactly. Most MOD's don't care, as long as you show the effort, and get the work done, they're happy.

A resume shows previous work experience. Better to show that you have some experience at anything that no experience at all (especially at dealing with workgroup bureaucracy :p). A rough statement for our younger participants, but that's why we have high school and college classes that prepare some for this work, not to mention all the free mod and editor programs that come with some games.

UnrealEd is how I got started with mapping and skinning, which is how some of the more inexperienced modders should start. The Valve SDK is a great way to learn.

Thank you. This was exactly what I was looking for. I need a new place to get started because Maya was a bit over whelming for a beginner. I could do simple stuff, but there is just too much in the program to get all in one year. Picture photoshop times 10.
