Sites that show when friends are on and what server they're playing on.

Lately I have just been going to BF2tracker and see if someone is online, and then go to BF2player and see "last online" to see what server.

Well BF2player isn't working today, and there has to be an easier way.

There is a BF2 buddy list that was stickied in the tips & tricks section, but that is down/being updated. http://www.xchain.org/bf2buddy.php

Also, don't say Xfire.. I use this for everyone that has an account.. like if I wanted to see if someone on here was online, what if they don't have/I don't know their s/n for their Xfire? I just want to be able to go somewhere and type their name in and see when they were last active/what server they (were) are on.

Does anyone know a site that will do this? I know they are out there, I just can't find one.

i use this one ,you have to register to use the feature but you can create buddy list server list ect.

you just need youre mates ingame name or pid.http://www.bf2tracker.com/

it also give you a 30 day history of youre stats and updates very fast.

its my fav stat site due to it having a buudy tracker.
      enjoy

BF2S doesn't show that stuff.. it just says last online. And like I said, I could use Xfire, but I don't want to go through the hassle of asking for their name... etc. I just want to go to a website and type in their name and see if they are on, and if they are, which server.

dude did you even read the first sentence... lmfao

It shows the server if they are online, but I have tested it.. like I checked to see if my friend was online with it, and it said he wasn't, yet I was on ventrilo with him and he was.. lol

BF2tracker.com shows what server they are on IF they are online.. What I want, is something that shows that, PLUS the last server/time they were on.

lmao i dont think they do. FFS people.

I have been searching for something like this myself. I have tried game-montier.com, but its slow updating like bf2tracker. Does All seeing eye do this? or is it like xfire?

what you want: "Sites that show when friends are on and what server they're playing on." (verbatim per your topic title)

What bf2tracker.com is: A site that shows you when your friends are on and what server they're playing on. (notice the glaring similarities between what you want and the description of bf2tracker.com.)

What others have recommended to you thus far: BF2tracker.com

What you have said: People dont even read the thread, you obviously have no idea what i want.

I fail to see what the problem is here. You have clearly stated in your topic title what you want..this is exactly what you can do with bf2tracker.com. You type in some ones ingame name or PID and like magic it will show you if they are online, what server they are on, what map, and how many players. The only thing it does not do that you mention in your post is show what server they were on last (but it does give you the time and date when they were on last)..which to me shouldnt matter...why would you want to join a server your friends have already left..unless you are the ultimate anti-social..in which case I guess bf2tracker wouldnt work for you. As far as how often the buddy list updates..300 seconds. thats not a very long time if you have an attention span greater than a 2 year old.

So perhaps before you tell people to not post before reading the thread, you should perhaps create a thread worth reading. It would save us all the trouble of having to point out the obvious to you in the future. Thanks, and as always, have a great day.

I was using www.game-monitor.com but they seem to have made some changes and it just isn't the same. Head over to www.BF2s.com and make a quick leaderboard and save it as an offline page. You can load it up with your clan members or friends and if they are online they will show up. I think this is still available, I might be mistaken though. Sorry I couldn't help more...

I apologize. I apologize for not making the intent of my post come across properly and for not conveying the point in a manner in which was easy to understand. Let me remedy the situation.

The Original posters topic title, if read at face value, can be taken quite litterally to mean that he is looking to find a site that shows friends that are online and what server they are playing on. He then, in the first sentence of his post (as you so cleverly pointed out...we cant get anything past you can we?), declares for all to see that he has been using BF2Tracker.com lately. To most, the post has already been answered right there. He asked a question, and then, in the same breath answered it for himself...ah but if life were only so simple. If we continue on, we can find that his topic is not what he is looking for at all..in the middle of the post we find that we have been misled *gasp*! He wants a site that keeps a history of the servers his friends play on, or at the very least for the site to display the last server they played on. In his second post we discover this is because bf2tracker doesnt update fast enough! Now here is the tricky part..you may have missed it, and if so, thats ok..ill say it again...nay..ill copy paste it exactly the way i said it the first time, then, for your benifit, i shall even go so far as to explain what it is i said.

"As far as how often the buddy list updates..300 seconds. thats not a very long time if you have an attention span greater than a 2 year old."

Lets break it down. He stated in his second post that he got on a voice chat program to discover his friend playing when bf2tracker listed his friend as offline. As stated it takes 300 seconds (dont get your calculator out just yet, thats 5 minutes), for the buddy list to refresh. That means if you have a friend that gets on a server, if he got on right after the refresh, it could be up to 5 whole minutes before he shows up on the list. This, i suppose, would give some people ample time to get on a voice chat program, discover their friend to actually be online despite what the buddy list claims, and discount the whole system as broken and worthless. Unless of course you have an ounce of patience, you would discover shortly that the list does infact update and your friend is acutally being shown as online...but who has 5 minutes these days! Now, so as to prepare myself for the inevietable response of "My friend said he had been playing for like 20 minutes already", let me say a few things. While playing bf2, time does seem to distort itself. seconds can seem like minutes, minutes like seconds...its very hard to tell how much time has truly passed while in the midst of a battlefield game. The same holds true to the customer service industry..when a customer says "Ive been waiting for 30 mintues for some one to help me" in most cases the actual time was closer to 5 minutes. If however his friend had been playing for more than 5 minutes, and the list truly did not show his status correctly, this could still be attributed to a mispelled name, wrong PID, the server he is playing on not updating properly, or the hand of some unnamable horror reaching into the intraweb and snatching his online status from all to see. Some times, things dont work perfectly, but its usually an isolated case, at least with bf2tracker. Ive been using it for almost a year now, and to this day i can only think of one time i had any trouble with the buddy list functionality.

Now me personally, i find that my first posting of this point was much more concise and to the point than what i just spelled out for you.

Basically what im saying is, If he wanted a list of sites/programs that showed the last server played on as well as current online status, perhaps he should have mentioned this in his (obviously not so obvious) post title..a few suggestions for next time: Sites that show my friends last server played and current server they are playing; Sites that keep a server played history for my friends; Buddy list with last server played functionality...Any of this strike more to the heart of the original posters desires for a buddy list. And any of these would have perhaps kept people from posting suggestions (suggestions that in the defense of the other posters were infact spot on to what he was looking for) that the original poster felt were unworty and in turn would have kept him from replying with the rude "you didnt even read my post" response.

So, i hope i cleared everything up for you. Really, its not too hard to understand what im saying.
