i got battlefield 2 and the game works but when i downloaded the patch (bf2patch.1.22.exe)

oh my mate got that. ITs either caused by installing and unistalling mods or editing your files.

You have to reinstall the game, well thats how we sorted it!

ran across the very same error.:cry:

found out that it was the patch,there seems to be more than 1 patch,the first patch i tried was only 173meg big.
went to filefront.
found the 1.3 patch there was 438.21megs.
problem fixed

1.3 isn't the latest. That last reply before yours was July 2006. BF2 is at 1.41 now.. after installing BF2, you need to install the full 1.41 patch.

Im starting 1.41 right now.

You only need the 1.41 full. No previous versions are needed. Don't forget to re-patch after installing SF, EF or AF.
