Mods and attack helos..

So, in a sense I don't really mind, but why is it that the mod groups all choose the HIND as their main attack helo, when there seem to be different kinds available. Now, mind you, I can't think of any right now, but it seems to be a "stale" helicopter.

POe for example gave multiple versions of factions with different helicotpers: apache, cobra, commanche, alligator, etc. I like the HIND, but it seems everyone and their mother is creating this helicopter as a faction opposite to the apache.

Any modders feel like commenting on which they are thinking of adding or maybe any tips to any modders with which they want? i mean, the Eurocopter is kind of neat, but it just doesn't seem...I dunno, nice looking. :) I'm a big fan of the flying tank aka Apache and the HIND, but even a recent varient of the HUEY that can fit a storyline ("country a" has been using the commanche/huey against the USA)...

I know I'm going off a bit, I just don't think I want to switch between mods and always fly a HIND/Apache.

I'm just a huge gunship fan, and I want a more diverse variance in which vehicles I can fly!!! :)

Meh, sometimes alternative storylines interest me more than actual history. ...It could be the LavaMen vs. G.I. Joe for all I care, as long as the gameplay is fun! hehehe

What I'm saying is that I would love a mod with several types of helicopter models for different maps. Several factions, etc. Maybe have two attack helos available per side, two different tanks, APCs, etc. I'm talking eventually, but it would definitely give push to plenty of variety within the mod.

Why do Helicopter in mods handle so different from original BF. I really would like to know which way is more realistic.

The matchup in OPK is quite interesting, you have the UHT tiger with Laser missiles and AA missiles for the gunner, which looks much better than Tiger HAP from EF against a 6 seat transport/attack HIND with tons of hydra rockets, and the old gun/TV-missile combo for the gunner.

The russians developed more cool choppers like the dual-rotor Alligator.

I know what you mean, imo the mods look a lot the same(except operation peace keeper I think) same buildings same maps.
Im afraid to many modder working on a desert combat mod kinda
Well that was one of the most played mods in gameworld, so its explainable
after a while mods will go down and whe will see who survives.
