We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
i think it is going to be crap. i hate the futuristic SCi fi. i prefere BF2 as it is and they should just add more weapons, maps, and vehicles to it. i hope people will still play bf2 when 2142 comes out
It's alright but I hate the Marauders stealth capability in Titan mode. You can't really do anything about it. Your Titan is critical before you know they are there.
The T-39's are rediculously overpowered and the ass hats are already Tk'ng like crazy to ride one. I'm already working on ways to counter these guys as they really effect the battle.
The only other thing is that the "unlocks" are definitely better than standard weapons this time. And you not only get them for rank but just at certain levels of achievement guns, gadgets, you name it. It makes rank and thus stat padding even more Important/prevelent.
But it's still early so hopefully these game balance issues can be fixed.
I cant make a vote i realy like the idea of it and wouldnt mind playing it but unless they can fix the bugs in bf2 i wont buy it as those bugs are going to be carried over to 2124 and there the main thing that do my head in about bf2.
The simple answer is no.
I think when you get down to it it's gonna feal the same as BF2.
I believe they are simply playing it safe with this title.
They removed the platform for complaints about realisism and instead of actually implementing a better system they just put a bandage over the real issue or ignore them.
So, they just made a game where it doesn't have to play by any previous rules (where complaints are conviently). Make it "pretty" (It's in one of the interviews), add bloom, etc. Add one more game mode and release.
Nothing innovative. O-O-H di Titan mode! Ya. It's way co-ol.
It just may be smart that they did it what they did in the business sense.
But, I'm not buying a game just to do business.
I bought all BF games when they came out, yes even RtR & SW, so I'm definitely buying this one. So far I've only been disappointed with Secret Weapons and the Euro Force booster packs. Sure BF2142 is more of the same, but it looks fun! besides I'm tired of the modern combat setting.
Exactly, forget 2142, QW is going to smoke it, and where 2142 might be better, will all be made up for by actual support honestly for the game, no as focused on net earnings.
sorry but I can't help but ask... did you ever spend any time playing doom 3 or quake 4?
The reason I say this (not a cheap shot) is because both of those games were nothing more than "cut and run" releases with almost no multiplayer support whatsoever.
The quake franchise was the original multiplayer gaming franchise and for years, and the quake community was among the largest of them all.
But due to a total lack (and I do mean total) of developer support for nearly 6 months, a game that was released last October (quake 4) now has, at any given time, no more than 100 people playing it online at any given time.
Trust me on this, I'm a huge fan of id games and have been involved in id software game communities since the original quake (damn near a decade) and if I had to make an unbiased assessment of how id compares to EA in terms of developer/publisher support... there is no comparison whatsoever.
I've seen more patches and community updates on just one game (BF 2) from EA in the last 6 months than I have from id in the last 2 1/2 years among all their titles (and that is NOT an exaggeration).
As a side note, some of you who are expecting a "realism" shooter from Quake wars need to watch these:
Notice how all gun combat is done on the fly with no slow down, everything is done with a fast "point click and kill" reflex based aiming system.
Keep in mind too, these are just videos of average convention goers playing, wait until you set foot on a public server and see people from the quake/et series strafe jumping all over the place popping off mid-air headshots...
A review from one of the people who got tp play it:
Unlike the Battlefield games I did not feel worthless vs a vehicle...
....The game had the ET feel I am happy to report. The slight bunny hopping and weapon fire will feel very familiar for vets of the series.
