Ok, so since yesterday... every server I look at has 1000+ ping... what the hell is that?

I am not downloading anything... nothing that uses up bandwidth is open.. I play how I do every other time I do.

But there are 3 other computers. I am going direct through the router while everyone else is going through the wireless... could that even possibly make me go to... 1000+ ping...?


I am at a different house than I normally play at. At this house I used to always get little ping spikes that go to like 200 for a second and come back down... but now its over 1,000 and its staying there... what the hell...

Could this be the ISP? What the **** is causing this..

If you use DSL, try and take a look at your signal to noise ratio.

Hmm. cable suffers when there are higher density of users in your localised area.

Since I've never had cable, I can't really help... but I'd get in touch with your ISP, especially if it is reproducable.

comcast (cable) 's been messing up for me lately
ping spike to like 500 and i get kicked soon after i join

i heard it's PB scanning computers for hack but who knows?

Yup I have comcast here too and it's been doing the same thing. Yesterday I clicked on a server and then boom my ping would go up to I believe the number was 1291

I restarted my computer and shut EVERYTHING else down including all the wireless crap too and now it works fine so thats all that matters..kinda wierd







metalica- Do you ever play on Wake Wake Axxium 24/7 at all? Let me know I need a good chopper pilot/gunner. (someone who understands not to use chain gun on a tank or pre-tv on a chopper for some reason people can't catch the concept and when I tell them they get ****y)

Theres a know bug since the last patch that gives you a high ping i wouldnt worry about it just log of and login again to see if it goes.

So it must be LAN related :|
It will probably spike up like that again regularly like it does for me

I saw that too !! Im east cost 2.5mbit up/down and the whole list was 900's 1000's when globally refreshed, singled out they had normal pings.

If you have chartercable then they are spikeing the line. They guy at Best Buy (who sells stuff for them) said it was to make it imposible for you to use file sharing progs.

It is just in the game or you noticed a drop in internet speed?
Maybe some trojan or spyware?

Dedicated Wake rocks...I cut my infantry teeth there as a noob and have recently starting playing there again. If you get two good teams it can be pretty intense, which makes up for all the times I go 2-13 because the U.S. team can't capture a flag.
